All these things that are coming out are just a big waste of money. STOCKS ARE DOWN!!! Sprint is so stuck on targeting businesses that its driving the company into the ground. You just cant jump into the business channel without having a good customer base first. They need to work on gaining individual liable lines before they try hitting all these companys. These business owners are going to the companys that thier families are at, not just someone who has something thier not gonna use anyways. I wish they would get the opinions from the people on the front lines, the sales associates. Cause when store managers report to higher ups, they lie to cover thier a$$e$ 👿

How is releasing a set of tools to 3rd party developers a waste of money? Sprint will not be developing them so they spend nothing. These are basically the same tools used to dev. the Family Locater so any cost that Sprint has were used for a previous application. What customers do not want options or open platforms? Telenav is a great app but I would love to see what other GPS/Location apps could come from this. Not every app is going to be for everyone. Do you think every app for the iphone is for everyone? Why are most carriers slowly moving to open platforms? Maybe because that is what most end users want? Look at all the people that are waiting for Android devices to hit their carrier if you don't believe me.

They are just getting desperate cause they keep loosing business so releasing the tools into the open allows them to try and focus on something else... Perhaps on retaining the existing business and attracting new customers...

evro,

Hate will eat you alive. Quit hating on Sprint. With their new CEO, I have confidence Sprint will rebound.

Have you looked out your window lately. The national economy is in shambles.

I'm sure Sprint has a plan. They just didn't bother telling you about it.

biff441,

if economy is in shambles, why is it that malls and shopping centers are packed and it is impossible to find parking? if economy is in shambles, why is it that traffic in the mornings is bumper to bumper and i have to leave an hour and a half before the start of my work day to go 20 miles which normally takes 40-45 minutes? but all this aside, even under a new CEO, Sprint still sucks...

Dude! your joking right? Don't you read or watch the news? Unemployment is the worst in over 40 years. for the first time in history the big three automakers are facing closures. Many retailers are facing bankruptsy or are closing. There is a record number of home forclosures and many wealthy and non wealthy indidviduals have lost a ton of money in the stock market! although I hope you are joking, the demographics of the economy is really not a laughing matter! It is awesome that you may be immune to the state of this recession, but the truth be told that it is indeed a shambles out there.

So you really think the econony is fine?? I want what ever you are smokin' cuz it must be so good stuff! Why is the top consumer electronics retailer (Best Buy) offering VSP to 4000 of its employees a month after its largest competitor Circuit City files for bankruptcy, closes 155 stores, and lays off thousands? DHL just left North America and FedEx may be laying off people as well. Why did RIM stock fall 66%? Why did At&t layoff 4650 or 1.5% of its work force? Maybe you don't watch the news or somehting becasue you seem kinda blind to the world.
