Exactly why I am leaving Verizon in April. I am sick and tired of being dimed to death by them for everything they can possible think of.

Have to say that is the biggest reason I went the the Everything Plan with Sprint. Coverage from all the major carriers in my area is good but I have to admit the Sprint plans give your the most for you money

YOURE NOT BEING CHARGED!!!

why are people freakin out. consumer rates will not go change at all with this announcement.

Have fun with using a company that is going bankrupt!! And you wonder why verizon is the profitable? Because they create new revenue streams.

Personally I'm anti both Verizon and Sprint. But I do have something to say about you sayin Sprint is going bankrupt.

I think WiMax does have a lot of potential. You just wait to what happens with WiMax into the 2nd half of next year.

What do you expect from someone who works for Verizon?

Yes, Sprint has lost a lot of money because of some TERRIBLE business decisions, but I beleive that is changing.

But let's take worse case scenario and say that Sprint goes out of business in a year (doubtful since it looks like Xohm is going to be huge). No big deal. That means you don't have to pay the Galactic Empire of wireless for a year and you won't have to deal with this stuff. I've heard that VZW is working on a deal for '09 to charge their customers for breathing when you're on "the Network".

Back to topic: the bottom line is that this latest move is not going to benefit customers. As a matter of fact, it's probably going to end up costing them. Maybe not thr...

That was a fu!NN!y Star Wars twist you wrote in your post.

Yep, by the 2nd half of next yr Xohm will be mord mature. Check out the post I put in the General forum! HTC has a WiMax handset that resembles the HTC Touch HD in the works, very interesting.

Yeah. I always thought it would be great to put Darth Vader in that crowd standing behind the VZW test guy.

First of all Sprint is not going bankrupt. Their balance sheets are improving.

Secondly if Verizon charges many of these third party providers, some may pull the plug on Verizon customers which would put Verizon at a disadvantage with customers who like to use Google SMS or other sms applications.

As the coverage for each carrier comes closer to parity people who did not have a choice about carrier due to coverage issues will have a choice and then they will want to have a phone that doesn't break in three months and access to SMS services.
In our market in the NW we already are porting people away from Verizon daily. Why? Rotten handset quality, coverage that has gotten worse and the fact that Verizon is the most expensive carrier ...

I have to admit...even though my opinion of sprint is that the company is run by retarded trolls, not to mention they have foreign monkeys from like guam or wherever answering the phones talking smack to you and telling lies....sprint's technology is insane, not to mention they have the very best unlimited plan. if sprint truely cleaned up their act and put their call centers in the united states...i could see a lot of old disgruntled customers coming back and maybe winning over a few new ones. i believe wimax will be a big success. verizon can't even compete with sprint speed...so instead of being so fixated on creating crafty new ways to nickle and dime people they need to speed up their crappy network. i had verizon and 2 paper cups and a...

That comment about 2 strings and a paper cup was funny. Verizon's ****iness is annoying, this isn't the 1980s/1990s when people had trouble getting a signal, this is almost 2009 and I think no matter what carrier you have voice service is fine, signal is fine. People aren't walking around hunting for signals, I've been with Cingular/ATT since the beginning of 2002, never a problem with voice service.

About what you said about call centers, the ability to communicate clearly and in English is the very core job duty of a person who talks on the phone for a job, the ability to be clear and understood.
Otherwise I guess Sprint customers are better off physically going into a Sprint store for whatever customer support they need.

I certainl...

Tmobile................you seriously need a cluepon.

T mobile has pretty much no 3g coverage (the 2 places that have it love it I assume). They need to offer all those minutes to make up for the dropped calls due to their piss poor network coverage.

Verizon dumps alot of money into their network. And they pay their employees very well. And customers receive an outstanding cellular network experience. So keep telling yourself that tmobile is better....... 🤣
