They had it coming for a long time

It is a real shame that a company with potential really lived up to what a mobile phone company should not be. They did not learn from all the mistakes and by watching competitors more closely. Verizon would be super smart to buy them out like Cingular did with AT&T Wireless back in 2004. Merging the same technology would give Verizon the boost to really compete with the New AT&T. Nextel then can go on their merry old way. T-mobile should stay exactly as they are. If they buy out Sprint they would create a logistics issue to convert CDMA to GSM.

I agree. Verizon Wireless should definitely step in and take over Sprint. VZW would then be the biggest wireless carrier in the U.S.

I don't think Deutsch Telekom would sell T-Mo. DT was considering to purchase Sprint. So there may be a battle between DT and VZW! or maybe not.. I wonder what VZW thinks about this. It's going to be really interesting to see how this goes.

They would not but DT could buy out Sprint and combine T-mobile USA and Sprint.

VZW will not buy Sprint. They could buy out Nextel if they want.

I 100% do not agree!! I DO NOT want Verizon, the company I sell for to buy Sprint and any of their problems. That will destroy alot of my, and many other people, incoming revenue by having all of these unhappy potential switch overs all of a sudden converted to Verizon. Sprint is THE worst for everything wireless. Customer service and reception, and its great income for me or anyone that sells TMobile or ATT to have these unhappy cell users switching over.

Positive cash flow does have some part of the purchase equation but they need a lot more than that to fund a potential transaction of Sprint or any other company that size.

So you are saying you are not going to be happy to have more customers to help. Do you not think that if Sprint merged with verizon that the sprint customers wouldn't need any help from you. You would then become the problem with customer service in not wanting to help the new customers. If Verizon does this they are done, because they have people like you who work for them. Open your little mind to more than just verizon and you will find most carriers have the same qualities. Also most carriers copy off each others ideas ie phones, rate plans, etc

Are you kidding??? Expensive???? Sprint makes you pay extra for picture messaging!!! By the time you get done paying for crap like that, its way more expensive. And lets just pretend for a moment that your pathetic excuse for a statement was true, would you not be willing to pay a little more for better service. I'm sorry sweetheart but you have no leg to stand on in this matter.

NO! are you kidding? Why would you pay for all those seperates when you can get everything for $99? Doesn't Verizon charge like an extra $30 for data? lol Like I said I wouldn't want to sell their expensive service. I remember just a few years ago only old people were the base of their customers.

MizzSprint,

why complain about selling their expensive service? It's obviously working, because they've brought in more customers than Sprint every quarter for the last like 7 years lol. And Sprint has consistently lost more customers, and yet you don't want to sell for them? Makes no sense.

Why would I go from selling something at one price and jacked up at the next carrier. That's like selling gas at one place for $3 and going to the next place and selling it for $5. Someone made a great point Sprint allows people with bad credit to join, so what does that tell you those people cannot be trusted. That's what usually happens people jack up their bills and don't pay them. I believe it's Sprint being greedy but hey what can I do. I would work for Tmobile before anyone else I heard they treat their employees very well. Verizon would be the last resort. Also I would be successful too charging people $1000 for deposits that makes up for a lot don't cha think?

Actually,

This facts are this....Verizon charges the most, yes, but because of their brand, superior product, and superior customer service, customers choose to come to them more than Sprint and Tmobile, and ATT. Also, customers choose to stay with them more than any other company. That's the company that I'd want to work for....it makes more sense to me.

Verizon's service isn't great. How about I needed a tech sent to my house for my infamous high speed fios (yeah right) Made an appointment for one day he came the day before because he had "nothing to do", what are appointments for? I was on vacation that's why I didn't make the appointment for the time the idiot came. Talk about great customer service! I cannot wait until this contract is up with Verizon, I couldn't get anything done over the phone I had to write a letter to escalate everything and finally 5 months later I got a response. I guess all of their "GREAT" customer service reps are at the wireless department.

May 14, 2008, 2:13 PM
Well, there will always be isolated incidences, but the proof is in the numbers. Verizon has the lowest churn consistently for every quarter for almost 6 years, and they also bring in more customers than any other carrier almost every single quarter. So, I would think they are pretty great...if not great, definitely better than the rest....and they do this, even with higher prices.

May 14, 2008, 2:18 PM
That's fine, but come July 1st they have something under their sleeves. They're going to start paying their reps on every single phone sold and customer service. Honestly, if they would have started this sooner maybe it would have saved them. In the past if people threatened to cancel we would say "hey here's your account number", but when that goes in effect it's going to be much different.

Sprint is finally realizing that happy reps= great Customer Service.

before this starts a whole new debate let me clarify why i said that

im in florida, in and around my area there are verizon store and then verizon wireless stores. wireless stores dont sell landline. i cant speak for the rest of the country, but around here they are "different". verizon wireless cs and verizon cs are also different. that was why i said that. im an indirect agent, and cs isnt that great to us, maybe cause arent "customers". and just so you know im not a "hater", i hope sprint starts to pick back up that way maybe vzw will offer everything for 100. unfortunatly i dont think they will do that because they know they can make a lil more off data. if people stop buying it then maybe they will change.

Okay I got you. Do you know anybody that works in a Vzw corperate store. While in the corperate store, we used to have to sell long distance for house phones while Indirect didn't have to.

only the guys at my local store. they arent the nicest people. they only get paid commission, while i get salary plus comission(comission is a lot less) but they dont help customers just sell. one of customers was in the mall where the corporate store was and he forgot his voicemail password, they asked where he got it and he said down the road, the rep said he had to see us to fix it and WE ALL know thats total bs. i have to help people, CS is part of my job, not just sales. when i was a customer before i started working for them i would drive for about an hour to get to a good store and not go 3 minutes to see them locally. they are that bad. but no one is perfect and everyone has bad days so maybe they were havin bad days everyday lol

Deutsche Telekom's assets make AT&T look like a pauper... And withh T-Mobile being #1 in wireless growth and gaining net customers, there's no way AT&T could ever buy T-Mobile. In fact, Deutsche Telekom could probably buy AT&T, but it wouldn't make business sense...

All Verizon needs to do is sit back and watch Sprint tank. Don't expect them to make a move unless they're forced to. I have no sympathy for Sprint. They've been broken for a long time with a no 'quick-fix' solution and buying Nextel only put more holes in their canoe floating down River de Crap. Deutsche Telekom could buy Sprint just to let it go under and be less pressure for T-Mo. As for Verizon buying Sprint to complete with the 'New at&t'? What a laugh. Anyone who believes it's the 'New at&t' is giving their marketing dollars a lot of use. Seriously! It's the same company, new spin. Verizon is way ahead at&t, new or old.
It's sad for people who work for this company, but the weak will perish!

LOL... ummmmm... Cingular/ATT merger? How is that not buying customers? every major national carrier got to where they are by purchasing smaller companies. ATT, Verzion, Sprint, TM.... They all do. And if ATT is so good at building, how come they still have higher customer churn than Verizon and TM?

I never said I was a Sprint Hater. I could care less about the whole "Who is the better carrier argument". You guys can all argue until your blue in the face about who is the better carrier.

I look at it strictly from a business standpoint. When you look solely at company financials, then it becomes very difficult to justify that Sprint has done ANYTHING right, starting with what will probably go down as the WORST merger in the last probably century.

When your looking at financials, VZ and ATT are titans compared to Sprint or even TMO, Altell, etc.

The reason for my comment about your comment was due to the fact that your sole argument was that Sprint stock went up a couple points. Thats all in good fun in the short term, but the...

Yes, the stock has been down, WHO CARES! The company stock has been down for the past few years. When we see it's finally coming up we have people that say "Oh well Verizon or AT&T this." We're talking about Sprint here. Another thing how come people have to bring those carriers in the argument each time something positive is said about Sprint? Since those carriers are so superior why are people so worried about what Sprint is doing? They lost subscribers that's fine, every company has to have a downfall at one point in order to take proper steps to become successful.

So as I was saying in the post prior, Sprint's stock is up finally! It may not mean anything to YOU but it does to me, and all the other faithful stockholders that held on ...
