I'm sure when Verizon get's their hands on the CDMA version of this they will cripple the GPS & Wifi then knock the camera down to 1MP for no reason.
...
...and probably only offer it in one color while every other carrier has it in four.
...

yeah the color thing is def true. its so boring to only have one color
...
yeah it will be available in 2016 just sit and wait for it for verizon hahahahhahaha 2016!!!!
...
just like the rumor takin it from att...copycats ๐ณ
...
VZW phones come in more then one color. The 8830 and Pearl are in more then one color, the Curve is only one but it was just released last week, I'm sure after about a month or so that will change.
...

good guess, since verizon doesnt have a blackberry (or 2) with gps and 2mp camera
...
Verizon isnt the one that downgrades the camera, it is the manufacturer and they do this to fit the bigger, more power hungry CDMA, 1xrtt, and EVDO radio chip.
Not everything is up to Verizon.
...
Seriously, Verizon finally received a version of the BB Curve, so be happy.
Stupid big red machine and their fanboys taking all the wind out of the AT&T / GSM sails. Ugh.
...
your GSM fanboy started the thread. not a verizon user
...

thank you! ๐
...
VZW has never downgraded a camera on a blackberry..why do people keep bringing this up.
...
See below post... Verizon is notorious for cutting phone capabilities to work better with their UI. When Sprint and Verizon have the SAME (model number even) and different camera... etc... its not BlackBerry who wants to cripple you or Moto or Sammy. As a phone manufacturer, you want the BEST experience possible into your customers hands... not the worst. Common sense is a tool, use it.
...
Just because they lock GPS to their service is not a downgrade. I know verizon messes with most of their handsets, but smartphones are left alone for the most part
People make assumptions about verizon based on past issues or performance and many of those assumptions are no longer true. Its time for people on this forum to start using the common sense you mentioned and come with some new stuff to bash VZW for.

so does sprints curve or pearl have higher than a 2mp camera? because, being in a vzw store right now, the curve and pearl im looking at both have 2mp cameras
...
The Sprint version has a 2.1MP camera ๐ณ
...
oh yea because that .1 really makes a difference ๐
...
I love you guys. I really do. You keep me busy with all your FUD. Sprint has the exact same phones (8130, 8330) which both have 3g data, and oops! 2mp cameras. Verizon cripples the devices, dont think its the manufacturer. Or, you can just say that Sprint is using better technology, your choice. PS - I dont work for Sprint, I'm just clearing up your lack of insight past the company you work for.
...
Who really cares, if you like using VZW, they provide good service to you then the mpixel size of a camera or a color option is not a big deal.
...
willvMay 12, 2008, 3:40 PM
and the cameras are the same 2mp
...
hey "youareretarded" take your own name!
vzw's pearls and curves both have 3G EVDO (with a bigger 3g footprint than sprextel by the way)and the 2Mp camera to. so what the hell are you even talking about?! ๐คจ
...
if by better technology you mean the lack of serious coverage they have ๐ฒ
...
VZW Curve:
2MP cam
Streaming video and video capture (not offered on att)
wifi and gps haven't been available yet...only one or the other
VZW Pearl
2MP Cam
Video capture
wifi and gps haven't been available yet...only one or the other.
Nice try buddy, everything will remain in tact and it will be on a far superior network! Get your facts right.
