Glyde or Curve for non-internet users?

I have my New Every Two hitting on the 21st and I have the enjoyable problem of choosing between the Samsung Glyde or the Blackberry Curve for Verizon as my replacement phone.

I don't need the internet packet (for now), and I frequently text as well as make standard phone calls. Based on my needs, I feel getting the Curve MAY be overkill. I'm open to perhaps adding the internet plan onto my phone, but as it stands I feel the Glyde may offer more right out of the box (and with my existing, very affordable plan) than the Curve.

I'm a pocket-tech geek and both handsets look like a lot of fun to play with and to customize. I've never owned a handset with haptic feedback/touch, and I've also never owned a Blackberry, so both entice me.

Simply for the fact that the third party apps are all but infinite. The BlackBerry forums, namely pinstacker.com are some of the greatest online communities. Very tight nit group, BB users are. Also, push email seems non-vital till you start relying on it.

Well, I'm not a heavy email user for work OR play, so I factor that in.

You're probably very right when it comes to the online Blackberry community. I've visited a few when I was first learning about both the Pearl and Curve, and I liked what I saw and read.

agree w/ alltelhub. having played with both curve and glyde from VZW, will say that curve is the way to go. if ur willing to fork out 29.99 a month for unl. 3g internet/email access, which i currenty do on a pearl. for me, it is bigtime worth it! better camera, better MP3 player, better apps, easier to txt. UR not going to be modding the glyde, i can tell you that much. the curve will be significantly more reliable as far as reception/antennae goes as well.
