You're More Likely to Get Radiation From Radon in Your House

Are we really revisiting this issue AGAIN? 🙄 Yeeesh! Don't the conspiracy theory nuts ever admit defeat?

Cell phones are such low powered devices that you're more likely to be affected by the microwave or bricks in your home.

Why don't they just all eat a granola bar with tofu spread and leave us all alone?

"Why don't they just all eat a granola bar with tofu spread and leave us all alone?"

Because granola bars and tofu spread will probably be proven to cause cancer too, and then they're screwed.

Actually, recent research indicates that "living" is the #1 cause of cancer now. Let's discontinue this "living" stuff, and eradicate cancer entirely.

She can be the first to enact the eradicate "living" policy. We'll see if she gets cancer if she dies. If not, we have a solution.

Radiation effects from cellular devices is a myth, if its true then, home phones would be doing it to, wireless bluetooth devices suck as wireless head phones and computers would be giving them off, this theory is understandable to some points, but has anyone ever gone deaf from talking on their house phone or been effected by it? No, so whats the difference of a cellular device doing it? Whats next, Zunes give off radiations just because they are wireless mp3 players? It would be impossible to test the radiation over time theory of cellular devices damaging the human body, because the test subject would have to be a person whos never been exposed to loud noises or an extreamly large ammount of pressure through a quick change like for instan...

I don't think you understand what a myth is - else you would not have made that comparison or the other ill-conceived and illogical comparisons you made in your statements.

Conspiracy theory eh? Not only that, but the conspiracy theory is perpetrated by whom and what for purpose?

Let's just ignore the fact industry sponsored research dominates funding and that the industry fails to fund researchers after those researchers show detrimental effect from cell phone radiation.

Are they carrying the how-to tobacco handbook in their back pocket? Yeah. It's almost directly in line with the tobacco industry and all the things that they did to try to keep information from the public, to try to suppress science, to try to only

Yeeesh! Don't you have a sense of humor, at all? 🙄

And by the way, if you actually think these guys might have some legitimate points, then why do you work for the very industry that is responsible?

Sorry Captain, but it looks like you're going down with the ship on this one.

If you were joking, I didn't realize it.

I simply wanted to raise the point that the matter is not as cut and dry as it is made out to be and highlight the parallels between the tobacco industry and the wireless industry.

While I do not work for the industry, I am a customer. Regardless, I see how either is relevant to the fact of whether or not they pose a health risk.

In the meantime, I have taken steps to limit my exposure levles; low SAR, corded headset, and others. I also think that the European warnings regarding cellphone use and teenagers should be heeded (and at brought to the attention of parents) as well.

Further independent scientific research (not tainted by the industry) will not only allow for the health risks...

Even independent research can sometimes be tainted by political ideology.

I hope that whoever comprises this team will represent a wide array of differing viewpoints.

Ideology tends to be exposed fairly quickly by fellow scientists.

The politicization of results is what tends to linger.

Funny, funny stuff. The idea that there is any such thing as "independent" research is a good ole' belly laugh.

"Independent" research relies on University (read "government") grant money to survive. You win that next big chunk of grant money by discovering that the sky is falling, not by proving that all is well in the world...

Plooky has a decent point, and just because you are paranoid does not mean that they are not out to get you. 🙂

The problem with all of this research is that we are constantly exposed to all sorts of radiation (TV,Radio) at much higher levels. We don't see people worried about TV and Radio radiation levels. Cell phone radiation is very low power compared to these other sources. This makes it very difficult to show correlation and even more difficult to show causality between cellphone radiation and health.

That does not mean that cell phones are completely safe, just that cell phone radiation is less likely than other sources to be the primary cause of negative health effects.

what are we doing arguing the point of independent research.....after all no one smoke anymore since we found that it is a hazard to your healt.....oh wait...and then when they found that smoking causes low birth weights......

ok...

a study only really matters if people actually heed the advice!! otherwise you might as well go to the top of the empire state building and scatter the pages to the wind for all the good it will do.
