Do you have something to hide? Are you searching Google for the average weather temps in Iran? What do you have to hide, and why does it bother you so much. I think this should be a refreshing change in the celluer industry. An industry ofttimes filled with dull designs, and repetitive garbage. Hopefully they give us something different

That's a ridiculous justification for allowing the government to spy on American citizens without just cause, and always has been.

Its not on me to have to justify wanting privacy. Its on the GOVERNMENT to justify why they must take away my privacy. It doesn't matter if I'm having an intimate convo with my girlfriend or am talkin' rain gutters with a rabid telemarketer, I didn't invite some fat sweaty NSA tool to listen in. If he thinks there's cause, and a court or oversight body agrees, great, if not, he can f*** off.

Unless of course you think George Orwell's 1984 is a just peachy keen world to live in. Viva la Big Brother! đŸ¤Ŗ

This is such a f**king stupid argument. If the NSA doesn't get a hold of all the information they need and we have another terrorist attack take place in the US, who will be the first to point the finger at the government and claiming that not enough was done? I'm guessing the same people who sit here now and say "I'd rather die at the hands of Satan (and please learn to spell for goodness sake!) than have the NSA read my email." My thing is I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the whole privacy thing but I just feel like people add stress and worry to their lives with stuff like this that they can't really do anything about. What I mean by that is, if the government wanted to check out what you're doing what could you possibly do about it? You can't stop them and unless EVREYONE rises up against it you will never be able to stop it because its one person against the whole government. The problem is people gripe about these things to themselves and within their circles and yet never step forward to actually do anything about it and don't support those that actually DO stand up to say something, so instaed of getting upset in a forum on a website why don't you take it...

And what freedoms exactly are you losing? What is it, besides developing large quantities of explosives, that you can't do? Perhaps we shouldn't have background checks preceding the purchase of firearms because, well, what does it matter who we are or what we've done in the past?

We need to give the government what it *actually* needs to keep us safe, not just go, "Yessir bossir, whatever you want sir."

To be fair, itsn not just Google... pretty much every single telco company sold the average American citizen out. 😡

There was ATT's 'secret room' in its San Francisco hq, where NSA guys were allowed to tap directly into the data cables and spy on American citizen's communications directly, for example. And I'm sure the weren't alone... pretty much anybody who was anybody in landlines, wireless, internet, etc. cooperated with the NSA too. Who would dare not to?

All this because google will sell your search querries.

The NSA isnt going to e-mail your parents all your "questionable" search requests. They arent going to send lists of all the chatrooms you frequent to your friends. They will be looking for people who make an enormous number of searches for "how to build a bomb" along with large important structures. And even then they wont bust through the door of some kid doing a book on terrorists, they'll look him up to see if he is actually a potential threat.

Absolute freedom is something we shouldnt have; we couldnt handle it. You're entitled to your opinions on what is an acceptable amount, but complete freedom would allow large corporations to ruin the reputations of their employees for ...
