Xfinity Mobile fudges price comparison to T-Mobile
The chart Xfinity Mobile used in its press release has a glaring flaw:
T-Mobile charges $45/1 line for its Base Essentials plan, not $60. So Xfinity does NOT cost less for 1 line.
For 3 or 4 lines, the *regular* T-Mobile Essentials plan cost the same as Xfinity for 3 or 4 lines, $90* and $120. T-Mobile Essentials consistently has much better phone discounts than Xfinity short-term promotions.
Xfinity throttles data after 20 GB of monthly data use; speeds are reduced to a maximum of 1.5 Mbps download/750 kbps upload. During network congestion T-Mobile de-prioritizes Essentials data compared to its more expensive plans and again after 50GB/month.
*third line free promo has been running for more than 3 years.

Eh... the Base Essentials is not an "unlimited" plan, so that's not quite a fair comparison.

Well.. Xfinity picked the Base Essentials plan for the comparison chart, and they should have inserted the correct price for one line.

Base Essentials throttles data the same way that Xfinity does, 20GB of high-speed data (then unlimited data at up to 1.5Mbps). So they are equally limited for mobile data. $45/month, not $60 shown on the Xfinity comparison chart for one line.
Regular Essentials costs the same or less than Xfinity for 3 or 4 users: $90 (3) or $105 (4) with the 3rd line free, and is less limited for mobile data than Xfinity. A better value than Xfinity for accounts with 1, 3 or 4 lines, even without phone promos included.
