Why settle for the Samsung iPhone knockoff when you can have an even MORE unpolished Nokia iPhone knockoff???

This device sounds downright unpromising. I can't believe Nokia would build such a half-arsed product. They have clearly lost their way.

expecting anything close to an iphone or even the dissapointing instinct is setting yourself up to be let down. although nokie once led the way in cellular innovation, its been a steady decline since, say, 2003?

What I think both of you need to realize is that this phone is NOT the final build! It will most like be more responsive and better...

And there ARE things that this phone will have over the iPhone. A few quick things that come to mind is the 3.2 MP camera, stylus with internal storage, and the capability to use a 16 GB micro SD card...

I guess only time will tell how good it actually is, but (no pun intended) to try to compare the iPhone and the 5800 like apples to apples is not a fair comparison.

I think in the long run the 5800 will be more expensive but a more noteworthy device. 🙂

This doesn't seem *ANYWHERE* close to being as polished as the iPhone "demo" showcased way back when.

A Stylus is NOT an advantage. A 3.2MP camera and 16GB microSD card (just begging for problems) do not make up for horrid usability.

Nothing is wrong with it. Some people around here are very critical, like to start fights over devices, and are just a-holes in general. Use whatever device you like and what carrier works for you. Don't let a few trolls on cell phone forums tell you any differently.

It also fails in the real world.

Miserably.

Sorry.

Check the avg user rating on that comparison. Make up always hides the uglyness of anything.

That's the work of Apple-bashers and Sprint fanboys trying to save their lame device and network.

Honestly, nobody is dumb enough to prefer the Instinct with its clunky UI, unresponsive touch screen, inferior web browser, dated platform, and numerous glitches to the iPhone.

I'll quote myself here.

"Some people around here are very critical, like to start fights over devices, and are just a-holes in general. Use whatever device you like and what carrier works for you. Don't let a few trolls on cell phone forums tell you any differently."

Why does everyone think that this phone is meant to compete with the likes of iPhone or G1??? Nokia is not a one flavor cellphone maker, like Apple who has various MP3 players for different customers(Shuffle, Nano, Classic, and Touch); Nokia makes various Cellphones, Smartphones(Classic, XpressMusic, E-series, and N-series) to fit multiple customers needs. This phone is not Nokia's response to the iPhone or G1 or any other Touch based phone, this is Nokia's first stab at the Music Market which Apple dominates(in the U.S. for the most part; thus it's under Nokia's XpressMusic line up and not their Stronger N-Series Smartphones).

The price announced is killer for one very cool reason... It includes a one year subscription to Nokia Music, wh...
