The merger might fall apart this go around, but it will happen sooner or later. Neither company has the assests nor ability to leapfrog ahead its own, and Verizon with AT&T will eventually squeeze their smaller rivals out of the market.
My guess is that each side is hoping the other will fail first, and the winner will rush in to scoop up the remains for a song.

Nah neither company needs each other and hopefully this is the end of this merger talks between the two. Comcast could buy a stake of Sprint from Son and Dish and T-mo could merge and both would be fine. T-mo is already maintaining a million new customers a quarter and making 100's of million yea and its not billions a quarter like the big 2 but still shows they don't need to merge.
