Are they installed and turned on by default? I always love it when people pretend like you're opting into the loss of your freedom and rights by not spending countless hours every day trying to figure what the government is stealing from you and the new ways to thwart them. How about this? The constitution guarantees me certain freedoms. Government agencies should always take care how they approach my freedoms, period. We have a system of checks and balances designed to make sure that happens. In this case legislators are asking law enforcement agencies to spell out their practices. Great.
