Use common sense.
Do not download crap apps from any source and stay off Wifi in public places esp. airports.

That's Great Advice... from 1998. There are many more ways one could be infected with malware in 2016, like a drive-by malware installer while visiting a site. Or a legit web page whose ad links have been infiltrated with malware that installs when you click "Close" on the popover.

And like 200 more ways I don't have time to list. The real problem is Everyone wants to pass the buck, just like rooting a phone to remove Bloatware.

No, No, its not US, its Them... THEY won't let you do it. Then talk to the carrier (or manu) for the exact inverse lie.

Qualcomm had this root issue fixed Months ago, yet Im betting most devices in the wild still are not totally patched.

Plenty of apps to block "drive by" malwares.
Still, use common sense.

Common sense? So, pay hundreds of dollars for phones, and not be able to use public wifi, because these companies are too cheap to fix issues that they allowed to happen? Hmm ya, sounds about right..
