Eric is right, it's Nock-ee-ah, or Knoke-ee-uh. Stress on the first syllable. I pronounced it the other way for a long time until I found out I was wrong. ๐Ÿ™„

(or maybe it's only north americans) say no-KEE-ah. finnish, believe it or not, is closely related to japanese; which given americans' penchant for mis-pronouncing japanese words, would explain why everyone here says it different than finns. it really is NOCK-ee-ahh. stress in both languages is usually on the first syllable.

thanks for stickin up for me japhy. we're here to make this a more global place, one person at a time.

first of all just to give you guys heads up who gives a crap on how you spell it or how you pronounce it because you go anywhere in the world and say Nock-ee-ah or No-kee-ah they all know what people are talking about i know half the world says it one way while the other half pronounce it the other way WHO CARES. i know everywhere around the world hate the U.S. i live in the U.S. and i hate everything about this place including the Government but pronounciation and everything else you know people pronounce differently people speak different languages and different accents so it may sound differently so ALL IN ALL WHO GIVES A DAMN cool. have a nice day.
