Personally, a good deal

I feel that this is actually a good deal for those who are fine with the combination. AT&T performs great where ever I go, and having access to unlimited data would be awesome. Plus that extends to tablets. Which is crazy in my mind.

I am not swayed by the directv side of this, but I might have Uverse if it were offered in my area.

If you ignore the caveats and the outrageous price and refuse to compare this plan to the unlimited plans of yesteryear, then yes, this is a fantastic deal. BTW, I have a bridge in Brooklyn which I can also get you a great deal on.

Sure. Lets take a look. When I had unlimited data on AT&T, I was paying about $80 for 450 minutes, unlimited text and data. I believe unlimited minutes brought you to around $100 or slightly more.

So its a fantastic deal if you are already a customer of uverse or directtv.

The simple fact that they are offering it again, even if it appeals only to a select few, is awesome. As I said, it would work for me. I would pay it. But I guess I am a sucker.

>even if it appeals only to a select few

A great point. I think it would be great if this were made its own independent plan, and if Verizon made a similar plan of its own, even if it's contingent on fios (but most likely not).

*most* people genuinely don't need unlimited data.

Regarding yesteryear's unlimited data, I think that perhaps providers should put their plans where they say it and adjust them to be 3g only, if that's what they were initially set up with. If people want the 4g speeds or unlimited minutes, they can pay more for the increased service. Simple logical changes like that.

So, $100 for a phone and unlimited service. That leaves another $100 for directtv.

Because......... Uverse or DirectTV is worth $100 a month? I fail to see the value. I have the internet and Netflix. You can't factor in internet cost because I would have that anyway. That brings me to 7.99 a month. I fail to see the $100 value. But AT&T must be really glad the world is full of people like you.

If you compare anything to the same thing of yesteryear it's gonna cost more. That's called inflation idiot. Compare it to today's offerings. $100 for unlimited everything plus phone cost would actually be less than you'd pay for their 15gb plan- $100 + connection charge + phone cost.
