It gave so much to the smartphone industry but it will never be competitive like it was once was, especially given that they have put a definite deadline on realizing that success.

Hopefully the new Venice will give them some more life support, doubtful they will become a dominate player, but at least be relevent.

I don't think they are going to fail, I think the Venice is going to allow them to be a minor player. BB has its core user base, some corporate, significant amount of goverment use (not only Canada and the US) and a small but loyal amount of BB fans.

But they won't be what they were, several years ago my sister who works for a major food corporation was given a choice, they will replace her corporate phone with a new BB, or an iPhone, she choose the iPhone. I'm also sure the vast majority choose it as well.

I'm not dooming anything. The CEO literally said they might exit the smartphone business if things don't improve. Are you telling me things are going to improve? Because that would require a very sudden turnaround after years of just barely staying afloat.
