As a free application, this would be nice. But when you have to add $5 more to the cost a Verizon's EVDO (whether it be pay-per-use or a monthly subscription) I don't see the logic.

free application? lol that doesnt exist in this marketplace today...

$5/month wont hurt many people's wallets.

i think this is a good idea for verizon to launch becuase that will probably increase data arpu, which is obviously needed becuase of declining in voice apru..

i think at first it wont be successful but within a few years, i think it will be very successful..

sprint and the cable companies are doing the same thing or similiar thing and that is the trend that is going forward now....

i think its a good idea..

cingular is doing a tv service so i mean they must do something to offset the decline in voice arpu, and i think this is a good way of doing it.

The fact that $5/month won't hurt most people's wallets isn't the point.

It's overpriced.

The carriers seem to think that they can get away with charging $5/month for anything and everything, and it's crazy. Most of the crap that they charge $5/month for should be free.

$5/month in order to get my pictures off of my phone?

What's next, $5/month in order to be able to dial???

that could be true, but carriers are charging moneys for other services and people are getting it, so the fact is its not overcharging and overpriced becuase its a service that costs money for the carrier and they need to make it up some how. what you want them to raise the rates instead? i dont think so.

things cost in this world and there needs to be some kinda roic on them or else they wouldnt be launching those services becuase there is no incentive to do so.

If you don't want to pay for a service, don't subscribe to it or use it!

If you buy a phone that has the ability to use a mini sd memory card, it doesn't cost anythinhg to get your pix off your phone.

On the other hand, buy a low end camera phone that doesn't have the memory card available, then you're stuck sending messages. LOL!

And as far as carriers charging $5 per month for everything... LOL WAKE UP!!
At least on Verizon Wireless, CALLER ID, CALL WAITING, CALL FORWARDING, 3-WAY CALLING, AND VOICEMAIL are all included in the monthly fee for having your phone active!! LOL! You're not charged extra for that.

You are not required to pay $15 for vcast in order to access this or any other get it now app. You will still get evdo speed, you'll simply be billed airtime.

Seriously, are you going to forget recording something with Tivo every month? You can easily schedule over the Internet from work, school or call a family member to do it for you. Ok, maybe one-day I’ll forget to setup Tivo recording and after trying all the above methods first unsuccessfully, I’ll call Verizon and add the Tivo recording option. But I will sure enough cancel immediately after. And that program I just spent an additional $5 on better be worth it!

Hell yeah I would pay $5.00 a month for this. It is awesome. Just the other night I could have used this. Went to dinner with some friends and forgot to set the TiVo to record the Grammy's. Man was I pissed. This is not a made up story either I even said to my wife that there needs to be a way to do this from your cell phone.

Why do so many people think that this service should be free?? It is a conveinince service, dont we pay for just about any other services that make out lives easier? If I use your logic I should not have to pay for my TiVo service. I bought the TiVo box and they should let me use the recording and scheduling service for free. Damn now I am pissed!!! I am going to call DirectTV and tell them that my Direct ...
