This is too bad...

I know a lot of people will disagree, but I've had Nokias and Sanyos both, and they are night and day as far as general quality is concerned.

I think Sanyo would be taking a step back if they took a lot of Nokia features and build. I can't imagine what Sanyo would want from Nokia that they don't already have, except for branding.

I hear your point... I work with these devices daily and know how good Sanyo's are. The thing is, since Nokia finally got with the program and is using Qualcomm CDMA chips instead of their own, their reception/call quality hasn't been too bad. They are also fairly rugged and durable. They just haven't had ANY features on CDMA until recently...

You know Sanyo's have had their share of problems too: bad hinges and keypads on 8200, bad hinges and major dropped calls (until firmware fix) on 7400's. I could go on with other things I see on a daily basis.

I think this could actually be good in the long run. I just wonder what branding they will use?!?

I hear what you`re sayin Humdizzle, I`m not really a fan of Nokia either (especially CDMA Nokia), and a die hard Sanyo fan. But I have to admit that Nokia has some pretty competitive smart phones for the GSM networks and some other countries, maybe those markets have been their focus until now with the vast availability of EVDO. So I`m really excited to see if they incorporate some of those really high-end features that Nokia has offered!
