Calm down guy, was just pointing out that your assumptions of the situation are wrong and your mocking is unwarranted. The "hating of big brother" comes into play when the government tries to tell us how to live our lives and/or how to run our businesses.
You will find that most, if not all, Republicans believe that national security is one of the few things that actually should fall under the responsibility of the federal government. So them trying to make sure we have the best chance at thwarting another 9/11 style terrorist attack by extending this is in no way hypocritical in my eyes.
