A one-horse review?

Somehow the review reads as many others do - with a blinkered mindset. Many reviewers now look at phones wanting them to be an all-playing, fluffy app-centric device that can only be a 'real' device if it concentrates on all the irrelevancies such as the capability to flirt using 10 different apps, put your messages in a bubblegum pink dialog box, show satellite images on a basic GPS request to get from A to B, etc.

Some things just aren't necessary to most people. Teenagers who live their lives through texting whilst sitting next to each other or whose ability to make judgment calls whilst using a device is hindered, perhaps? Gamers who want a device that allows them to game 24 hours a day (because they cannot be away from some sort o...

I gave this device plenty of kudos throughout the review. In fact, I was much more fair than many other reviewers were.

I commended it on its call quality, battery life, and messaging powers. I pointed out how strong the email is, how good the quality of the materials are, and how powerful the browser is.

The definition of what equates a smartphone has changed dramatically. They are no longer just about getting work done. (For the record, I can do WAY MORE WORK on an Android or iOS device than I can a BlackBerry thanks to the availability of productivity apps such as Word or Docs).

Modern smartphones need to be good at everything - including entertainment. Games are the #1 type of content downloaded to smartphones, followed by mes...
