Here we go again
As if AT&T needs more spectrum than it currently has.
The 1900PCS Spectrum I guess is looking to be recycled for LTE, but likely not because AT&T needs to do that, but because T-Mobile services areas with it as well and its done in a competitive move.

*Rolls Eyes* So you don't have a problem with T Maybe and Verizon swap with no replies down below in the articles but when AT&T and US Cellular do it's a problem? Carrier hate troll at it's best..... If these companies feel the need to do so and it's in both their interests then let them. I guess Verizon and T Maybe have no spectrum somehow..... Never understood why people complain about one Tier 1 carrier but not the other.... It's a business and they do things strategically to one up each other.

The major difference is that Verizon had spectrum it was never going to use, in fact 700 A-Block was basically dismissed as unusable by AT&T and Verizon, so they sold it to T-Mobile who finds that they can use it. In exchange for nearly 3 billion dollars for it, T-Mobile exchanged a small portion of AWS to Verizon. That was a financial transaction. Both had the intent to compete.
US Cellular wants out of the game completely, they sold off a ton of network, spectrum and customers to Sprint, are swapping out spectrum in key markets to AT&T, where it will further decrease competition in those areas, by being one less carrier (US Cellular) and moving it over to AT&T, whom it seems already has a ton of spectrum, and is adding a lot more.
