Yeah I saw that too, so I went to AT&T to find their listed prices. Ha.

"On July 25, you can order the 4G LTE capable HTC Desire 610 online or in AT&T stores for $199.99 at no annual commitment pricing. The device is available as well with AT&T Next 18 for as little as $8.34 per month or only $10 per month with Next 12. You can also purchase an AT&T GoPhone HTC Desire 610 for $199.99.

Hmm..so its $200 outright or $150 over 18 months or $120 over 12 months. I'm thinking unless I'm missing something it would be cheapest to take the 12 month. Although it is AT&T so I take that back I would probably just pay the $200, there is sure to be some BS with getting it unlocked and fine print sticking it to you for a few more months so might as...

That is not how it works. Next 18 means you get to "upgrade" or "lease" a new phone after the 18th payment has been made of 24 payments. If you do the math, that means in 18 months you would have only paid 150.12 and 200.16 at the end of 24 months (also there is no activation fee, you just have to pay taxes up front based on the 199.99 cost of the phone). If you pay it off in 24, you own it. If you want the latest updated phone at month 18, trade in your old (this will complete the Next Lease program) and get a new one to start over again. The Next 12 is similar but allows an upgrade or re-Next at month 12 (this is a 20 month lease...total is 200.00 at 10.00 per month). This allows AT&T to separate service and equipment charges on the bill a...

No, still confused. So if for example, I chose the 12 month program, I would actually pay for 20 months, but I would trade in the phone for a new one after 12 months? Would I also start making new installments on the new phone? Or is it intended to be a 20 month payment plan, but because after 12 months I can trade in the phone for an upgrade, the remaining 8 payments are waived and the new installment plan on my new phone begins?

for instance with the 12month next program you are able to trade in your phone at 12months and stop paying installments on it and get a new device that you pay installments on, or you can continue paying it off and at 20months when its paid off upgrade it and keep the phone because you have paid the phone off all the way they dont make you trade it in
