Any word if Moto fixed their pathetic implementation of EDGE that rumor has they were forced to turn off in the software of the previous sets?

After the currently released phones moto will not be releasing any edge phones until they get teh chipset fixed. current phones that are already released should still ship with edge enabled such as the v551, its the future releases that are showing edge that will no longer have it.
