T-Mobile Re-arranges Data Caps on Simple Choice Plans, Adds International Texting
How About T-Mobile Adding More DOMESTIC Roaming Data...!
I recently switched from at&t (after being with at&t for 10+ years) to T-Mobile.
On a trip to Northern Wisconsin last week I was roaming on at&t.
Most of the at&t towers in Northeast Wisconsin have been upgraded to HSPA+ 42.2 Mbsp "4G".
I am using an unlocked rooted Samsung Rugby Pro (at&t branded). I set my Rugby Pro to search only WCDMA (with *#2263#) and the phone connected to at&t's HSPA+ 42.2 Mbsp "4G" network (confirmed with Network Signal Info Pro app).
Of course when I was with at&t I was getting megabits per second speed down and up in NE WI.
Performed a speed test and discovered the data speed is SERIOUSLY throttled. I was getting only "GPRS" speeds (about 50k down and up), latency was not bad though (175 ms).
