Of course, why not enforce the ban on TALKING while driving first...

I see so many people in NJ (and NY where it's equally illegal to talk on the phone without a headset) holding their phone as they drive around. This seems like an easier offense to enforce and rarely do people seem to get stopped or feel they shouldn't be obviously doing that while driving. If you are stopped at a red light, that is sorta the best time to do it, though if you say it's illegal to type while behind the wheel that would seem to cover it all...

Why not NJ push to make Governor Christie lose some weight first?

I think its time NJ changes its flag from its yellow background and coat of arms to a red flag, with a white circle and a swastika. Enough already, you have a law enforce it. This is all a money grab, between crap like this and red light cameras, nothing really for safty just revenue.

Recently Freehold Township's Gauleiter had the license plate scanners by the Freehold Mall review all plates to see who may have out of date registration, then send tickets to the owner of these cars. A pure abuse from a product who's intent for better or worse to help on follow ups on a potential terrorist attack. A former State Police Commandant calls this nothing more then Mayor's Methadone, the towns get addicted to the money, and then depend on it.
