Investors to Nokia: Switch to Another Road

Nokia and Microsoft have a partnership that Nokia needed more than simply finding an OS to run on it's hardware. While it can be argued that Nokia would have sold more Android devices than they have WP8 devices, would that have been enough to save them?

Look at HTC, Sony and LG. Neither of those companies have sold a large number of Android devices. Hell, Motorola didn't do all the well, when compared to Samsung. Why would Nokia have been any different? All the OEMs have produced some quality hardware, yet, any of them still have yet to match or come close to the kind of sales numbers that would save a sinking ship.

HTC is the only OEM of the ones I've mentioned, that stands the risk of loosing a great deal. The bulk of their business...

Nokia is on a dead end road with WP they need to think longterm, nothing good can come out of dealing with Microsoft. They took WP because they were in trouble and needed a quick fix, but now they need to think about Nokia and Nokia alone. Samsung knew this thats why they ditched the Activ S phone.

Samsung makes quality devices. It wasn't Android alone that sold the device. If that were the case, every Android phone should sell well. The Ativ S would have sold just as well as the Lumia 920, if not better. Just to clarify, yes, I own a Lumia 920. However, despite my preference in OS, I can look more objectively than some of my fellow Winfans. I try and look at thing from both sides, not just what everyone else sees or thinks. It was the reason I got a WP in the first place.

Windows Phone isn't a lost cause. I believe it has more to do with people being vested in the OS they've been using for the last few years. The other thing is, I think people are just stuck on Android and iPhone, as if nothing else should exist other than the two...
