iPhone 5 Won't Support Sprint's HD Voice At Launch

So I can't seem to get answer to this question. Does the iPhone 5 not support sprint's HD voice because it doesn't have the proper codec or is it a hardware limitation. I know the modem the iPhone is using is Qualcomm's mdm 9615m but don't know if it supports CDMA 1Ã—advanced.
