Not everyone needs apps and data. What happened to talking or sending texts?????

...is that 3G and 4G networks also affect voice, which includes sms. So upgrading their network from 2G to 3G or 4G actually helps with talking and sending texts.

LTE is currently only being used for data, voice over LTE has been tested, but not implemented. Although granted, in the next say 3-5 years ultimately voice and text will be done over LTE.
