Great, more useless software. A curated list of apps? Pre-loading the amazon app store onto the device ? Providing a listing of apps by category?

Now, i'm not 100% sure, but shouldn't the Google Play store be good enough for this? Or is this one of those things that US cellular offers becuase they think their users are incompotent / geriatric and don't even know what they themselves want ?

Android means customization to it's fullest, or it's supposed to. Whats the use of that if I don't even have a choice when it comes to this crap ? I want additional discounts on devices becuase of the bloatware, this is free advertising these companies are getting. I dont like it.

Whereas I do see your point, I don't think USCC's motivations were monetary.

They tend to be, from my experience, a company that prides itself on customer service / support. If they can say "Hey customer, here is a list of applications that we have tested and like, and that we think you might like." it saves those customers on wasted time going through the half a million apps available. Which in turn, can save USCC wasted time on customers who come in the door with issues due to a poorly performing application.

These are my thoughts anyway.

Having worked for and been a customer of USCC myself not too long ago, I can assure you that their motivations were definitely not monetary. USCC is all about making things easier on the customer and giving them more options without complication. Besides, just because they preload the amazon app store on the phones doesn't mean you have to use it. Of all the carriers I've been with, USCC's bloatware is actually useful and definitely not mostly advertisement.
