Storm 2 versus Motorola Droid

I have been anxiously waiting for the Storm 2 to come out. My tired Palm Treo 700P is long overdue for an upgrade but nothing at Verizon excited me. The Storm 2, I knew, was going to be the one. Now the Droid is coming, so I'll have to wait another little bit to check it out before deciding. I am primarily a business user, needing good email, contacts, etc. but I want to have a good browser and multimedia experience too. Any comments on which one? I hope someone will do a side-by-side comparison of the two as soon as possible.
Droids will have the physical keyboard like your Palm did. Storm2 is all screen and virtual keyboards.

To me, nothing beats Blackberrys for email and contacts. The standard Blackberry browser isn't really that great, but you can always download a b...

-Blackberry its more work enviroment

-Android its like Symbian, almost for everyone

So I dont see a real competition between a Work smartphone & Multimedia smartphone.

Hmmm...

I got my Storm 1 recently. And apart from the animations and the slightly snappier response when rotating from portrait to landscape, I really don't notice much in the way of differences between the responsiveness of the two phones. I'll admit, the 4 actuators on the screen made me happy (until I realized there's no way in hell I can afford to upgrade my Storm).

But really, I don't get all the recent Storm bashing. Yeah it sucked when it came out. But the software updates have made a huge difference in terms of the device's speed and responsiveness. I really have no problems with it at all.

WOW!?! He forgot the WIFI

Not one word mentioned about wifi and is it me but it keep showing 3g and Verizon doesn't show 3g it shows 1XEV on mine.
It does have WIFI and all of the newly released pda's will show then 3G coverage indicator, not 1XEV. The new updated software for the storm that will be availiable 10/25/09 may change the indicator on the storm as well.

City ID App?

I saw during the walk through an icon for 'City ID' Is this the same City ID app that is offered on some other VZW phones?
I use it on my Env Touch and love it. Some time ago I e-mailed this company about a version for Blackberries and they said they were working on it.
If indeed it's the same I wonder if it's available for all Blackberries or just ones on the VZW network?

Thanks for the walkthrough!

I suspect a big contributing factor in this devices increased speed is that memory was doubled across the board. There wasn't enough on the original Storm for a lot of people.

Looks like they paid attention to what was wrong and fixed many things
