it already does that for the Windows app

And it's very smooth. Gives you a notification in the main app, but when you click it, it takes you to the messenger app. Seems that the main app runs better without having the messenger part in there.
It already functions like this already on android, if you have the messenger appl installed with the main app. I get a notice on facebook, and can see my message list, once I open a message it opens in the dedicated app.

No way to log out of it!

Ya & they need to come up with a way so your not always showing logged in on it if you don't want to be! Right now the only way I have seen by googling it. At least for Android is that you have to go in and clear the data for the app. which is ridiculous. If FB is going to make you use it (which im holding out until they force it) Then they need to have a turn off option. The only way at least when I used Windowsphone with it was to change your password on fb and it would ask you if you wanted log out of all devices. Which was a pain. They better just have a turn off chat option, Just as they do through the site.

Get it to work first

Does not go to the app half the time from the drop down notification, plus I only get about 1/4 of my notifications. Half the time I don't know I have a message until I see the icon indicate it in the core FB app.
I suspect that may be in part due to the fact that it has not been streamlined in one place or another. if they actually move the entire messaging funtion to one place, I would think it will be more efficient.

Why?

I don't want my messages instantly. I'm on Facebook all the time, but when I go out to clubs, concerts, parties, I do not want to be notified of anything related to Facebook. I keep a strict distance from it outside of my home and office. I also don't want to download another app that slows down my whole phone. I don't even have any games or that much apps. It's the whole "upgrading" BS similar to this that's really killing my phone.

Voice Record

Does anyone know if the voice record portion of Messenger functions like Voxer? In other words, if both parties have the app open, does the conversation stream live, or do you have to wait and listen to the recording each time, regardless?
