Today Verizon Wireless announced that some of its stores will be opening early on Friday, November 6, when the Motorola Droid goes on sale. Some stores will open as early as 7 am, and others at 8am. Verizon said not all stores will open early and customers are encouraged to call their local retail locations ahead of time. Verizon Wireless stores that are located within malls will not open early.

This phone is very cool. I logged into my IMEEM radio account and was jamming out while putting the phones up (sweet!!) 😎

A 12 hour shift YEAH!!!

☹️ ☹️ ☹️ ☹️

LOL

Im glad to see that were going to have a good supply of phones on launch day and should have the staff to support it.

Hopefully with the amount of planning there doing it wont turn into a Storm 1 release where we were back ordered by noon launch day.

They have also tested this phone a lot more then the Storm 1 so there should be less out of the box issues.
Are you guys doing six day work weeks yet? If so mucho overtime, yes?

Would you prefer I call customer service at 6 am? What would you recommend?

On the Fence with this one...

I was given a sweet deal with Verizon to purchase this phone..Their customer service ROCKS!!!But I'm on the fence with this one. Any recommendations phone scoop friends? Any google platform users out there? The only 1 I saw in action was the G1..not impressed. I saw the reviews on this device....what was your experience with the google technology.
Remember at the end of the day...its a phone...even if it is the best network.
all the reviews seem to point out that as a phone (calls, texts) it is one of the best out there.
Ive played with the ERIS and the Droid and like them both. The OS is the latest Android release and I belive there is another update scheduled for it within the week.

I like both devices but for myself (coming from a Storm 1) I prefer the Eris. It ...

Manufacturing hype.

Okay, the commercials are funny. The marketing guys are going overboard with this hype machine now, however.
I have to agree with this one. I feel like there is tech hype over this, but not real consumer hype. They are doing this to make it seem like consumers are about to jump all over this, but...and as much as it pains me to say this...this isn't a new iP...

I was going to post the same thing a while ago...but figured I'd just get called a fan-boy. Opening early is overkill....but it sure sounds cool!

Same thing happened for the iPhone 3Gs release. Nothing innovative added at all, just more space, slightly enhanced the camera, yet the news hyped this new release for weeks. Headlines were littered with '3Gs' articles last summer. Same with the 2G ->...

I've had 20 people in my store in the past week looking for information on this phone, most of them first time smartphone users.

I am a single indirect location that does about 200 contracts a month. That is 10% of a normal month looking at a SING...
