Today LG announced the BL40 New Chocolate phone. This monoblock device's call-out feature is its display, which stretches 4 inches with a widescreen 21:9 aspect ratio. LG calls the high-def screen "real VGA", and notes that it uses a Dual Screen user interface that can show two different types of content at the same time. The display is protected by curved, tempered glass. LG didn't provide any information about what radio technologies the BL40 would support, but noted that it will be available across 54 different countries before the end of the third quarter. It likely uses GSM-based technologies, rather than the CDMA used by the Chocolate series phones sold by Verizon Wireless.

Too bad this is set for GSM

I'm on VZW and this thing looks really sweet. I hope they make a CDMA version for Big Red. LG and VZW have worked together on "Chocolate" devices before, really hope this makes a VZW appearance before my new every 2.
Right, I hope it comes out in CDMA for Verizon too. I'm hoping to be able to compare this and the Omnia II.

I though VZW was coming out w/ GSM phones like the Storm ..? It better be w/ VZW .. it is a Chocolate after all!

So nice had to post twice???

😁
The info taken form the twitter post was pretty thin. Rather than update that post, I thought the official announcement from LG warranted its own news item.
Don't complain... it gives us more pictures.
