for the Motorola V400:What a phone! Comes unlocked.
Okay, the secret's out... Cingular is selling this phone UNLOCKED...yes, you don't need to worry about the SIM card. I purchased mine at Best Buy, put my T-Mobile SIM in and off I went. I previously owned a V300, but prefer the screen, the keypad and the quad band capacity of this one much more, AND it's a better colour (silver). for the Motorola V300:WOW, Flawless...
...except for the lack of Bluetooth, but we'll let that go. This phone is great, scratch resistent, 9 lines on the screen to read (much more than my Samsung E715) and a great camera. I have owned a lot of phones and this, by far works GREAT. I am looking forward to seeing the V600, which shrinks the size and adds Bluetooth. T-Mobile should be proud of this phone, good signal strength on what I think is ...

for the Samsung SGH-S300 / SGH-S300m:Fantastic and Perfect Size!!
The SGH-S300 is a fantastic phone, picture the S100, shrunk down about 33% and then put added features into it. It's great. Clear color screen (both sides, the outside boasts a color display as well) Key pad is easy to use and the comments I get on the phone are incredible. Good signal strength and it's Tri-band!
