for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 (Verizon / Sprint):
Outstanding Phone
This is a huge upgrade from the Galaxy S3 in every way. PROS: +Awesome 1080p screen +Clear call quality +Loud speaker for music +Outstanding battery life +Great accessories available +Very fast overall +Runs 4.2 out of the box +Phone charges very quickly CONS: -Speakerphone is distorted at max volume -Touchwiz is very bloated and a replacement launcher and keyboard sped up performance significantly. -Gimmicky features such as gestures and eye detection aren't as useful as advertised and drain battery, might as well turn them off. All in all, this is great hardware. You ...

for the Motorola Triumph:
Great for prepaid, Mediocre in general
I picked one of these up for a friend who has Virgin Mobile. As we all know, Virgin's selection of phones is lacking, so this phone is the best among them right now. PROS: +Feels solidly built +Sound quality is excellent +Speaker for music/video is loud and clear +4.1 inch screen +Usually runs pretty smoothly +3G speeds are pretty good CONS: -Still running Android 2.2; No word on official updates, limited support -Camera quality is lacking -Outgoing sound is muffled at times -Screen isn't as responsive as other Motorolas. -Touch sensitive buttons ...

for the Samsung Admire / Vitality:
Absolute Junk!
A relative of mine has had this phone, and is getting rid of it ASAP. If you have MetroPCS, spend a bit more and get a better phone. I can find almost no redeeming qualities with this phone. CONS: -Terrible sound quality and reception. -Poor quality screen -Too slow to stream audio or video -Unable to maintain 3G signal -Phone freezes and resets all the time. All in all, I realize MetroPCS isn't very good, but this phone makes it worthless. Stay away from this one!

for the Samsung Droid Charge:
Awesome phone, Best 4G choice until the Bionic
I originally bought the Thunderbolt and had many problems with it, so I exchanged it for the Droid Charge. So far the switch was well worth it. I use my phone primarily for calls, text, and web browsing, so my priorities may differ from someone who streams videos or music everyday. PROS: +Super AMOLED+ Screen is awesome +Excellent call quality, on-par with Motorolas +Build quality is great despite being plastic +Lightweight, not a brick +Thinner than the Thunderbolt and Revolution +Aside from the TouchWiz launcher and ...

for the HTC ThunderBolt:
Great data speeds, mediocre phone otherwise
I really wanted 4G speeds, so I "upgraded" from the Droid X to the Thunderbolt. I must say that the Droid X was a superior phone in many respects and I'm not totally pleased with the Thunderbolt. PROS: +Awesome 4G data speeds +Sturdy build quality +Cool kickstand +Great selection of Sense UI widgets +Easier to customize than most phones which require root NEUTRAL: =The screen is very mediocre quality =The Sense Contacts and Messaging apps are oversimplified CONS: -Reception is worse than the Droid X. More dropped calls ...

for the Motorola Droid 2:
Very good, could still be improved
I upgraded from the original Droid which was stellar to begin with. The Droid 2 fixes a lot of the issues I had with the original Droid, but has a few quirks of its own that hopefully will be fixed with software revisions. PROS: + Call Quality is excellent, even better than the original Droid + Reception is outstanding, identical signal readings to the original Droid + 1 Ghz processor really helps + Outgoing call quality is much better than other touchscreen phones. + ...

for the Motorola Entice W766:
Excellent easy to use phone
As far as a basic phone for making calls, this phone is the best available for Verizon. PROS: -Loud and clear earpiece -Outstanding reception (better than the E815) -Lightweight yet solidly constructed, no creaks or loose parts -Grippy rubber backing -Huge brightly lit keypad -Camera works very well in adequate lighting -Huge external screen, great for time and phone info -Threaded Messaging -Entice Display Theme is like the true Motorola UI -Choice of Grid, List ot Tab menu layout -Ability to choose main menu items and their position -Good battery life CONS: -Speakerphone ...

for the Motorola Rival A455:
Quirky little phone with hardware issues
Given great past experiences with Motorola, I selected this phone for a relative of mine and it was a total disappointment. THE GOOD: +Great reception +Loud and clear earpiece +Not likely to accidentally dial while in a pocket +Easy to use, customizable interface +Very natural to use as a camera THE BAD: -Flimsy slider, wiggles while open or closed -Directional Pad and surrounding buttons are creaky and hard to press -Quirky touchscreen where the center button is touch sensitive in landscape mode, but not in portrait. You find ...

for the Motorola Barrage V860:
Amazing phone, if you get a good one
The Barrage has had some quality control issues, but after some hardware revisions, it could be a near perfect phone. THE GOOD: +Reception is outstanding, even better than the acclaimed E815 +Crystal clear sound quality +Keypad gives great feedback and is perfect for large fingers. +Rugged design, no creaks or flimsiness +Waterproof +2.2 inch 262k color screen is very bright and high quality +External screen is large and can display text messages. +Updated Motorola/Verizon hybrid interface with tons of customization options +Menu navigation is fast +Steel display theme is like ...

for the Motorola RAZR2 V8:
Wow, what a phone!
T-Mobile has a real shortage of high end flip phones, and this is the best of an increasingly rare breed. I know it's been officially discontinued, but some indirect dealers still carry it. PROS: +Outstanding call quality (much more natural sounding than T-Mobile Samsungs) +Outstanding reception (works great where most T-Mo phones don't work at all) +Extremely vibrant and detailed screen +Large external screen is very useful +MP3 player is very well laid out and compatible with car Bluetooth kits +Solid metal frame and hinge +The phone ...

for the LG enV Touch VX-11000:
Amazing phone...When you get a good one
Truth be told, it took me 4 tries to find an EnV Touch free of defects. The first one had a rebooting problem, the Bluetooth on the second one would not work properly, the third had an annoying buzzing feedback in the earpiece. I am going to assume that these flaws were just a bad first batch, and review the phone based on the phone when everything works as it should: PROS: -Excellent sound quality, loud earpiece -Fast, responsive touch screen -Above average ...

for the Motorola Rapture VU30:
Excellent phone, big step for Motorola!
I got the phone and have done extensive testing. Overall, this phone is a winner. This phone is rock solid and has the sound quality and reception that Motorola fans has come to expect. For those considering replacing E815's, this is a great choice. For those concerned about the keypad, it is awesome, even for those with large fingers. While it is no replacement for a V9m, I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who needs a solid ...

for the Motorola Adventure V750:
Great phone, great features, minor annoyances
PROS: +Thin design but thick enough to have substance +Large battery comes standard +Excellent sound quality and reception +Keypad buttons give great feedback +Phone feels rugged (except for parts noted in cons) +EV-DO Rev. A +Completely modernized Verizon UI is fast and attractive +Screen quality is impressive when set on brightness level 5 or 6 +Rubberized/Textured battery door is great for grip +One touch vibrate +Music player controls on the front give good feedback +Camera is very good in adequate lighting CONS/ANNOYANCES: -Unable to read text messages on the front screen (Verizon ...

for the LG Voyager VX-10000:
Great gadget, mediocre phone
I have been a long time Motorola user and I decided to give the Voyager a shot. I have been pleasantly surprised in many respects, but the phone does have its drawbacks. Overall, the Voyager is an excellent multimedia device but it lacks in several areas that I've stuck with Motorola for. PROS: -Excellent call volume -Good call quality in strong signal areas -Awesome keyboard/great for texting -Attractive design -Good battery life when used primarily for calls/moderate texting -Almost all functions can be done from the ...

for the Motorola RAZR2 V9m:
Great phone, Features highly dependant on carrier
Motorola and carriers really switched up features with each version, so no 2 carriers' V9m's are really the same. All are excellent as phones (great call quality/reception) and in terms of build quality. Battery life is poor on all of them. VERIZON'S: +Very fast interface +Vibrate AND ring +Can set internal and external wallpaper separately +Touch sensitive buttons give great feedback. +Can control camera from front screen =Black bars are better than red =The color is unique, but not for everyone -Interface is text-heavy and boring overall -Can't ...

for the LG enV VX-9900:
Very Good, but it has its drawbacks
I've used this phone for 2 weeks and found it just isn't for me, but I can give it a fair review. THE GOOD: -Internal screen is excellent -The internal keyboard gives great feedback -Sound quality is actually quite good -Better reception than most LG's -The camera takes very good pictures -The camera lens cover is very useful -Texting on the external screen is great -Overall, good build quality, but see cons -Comfortable to hold while closed -The Communicator theme has an icon based menu layout instead of the boring ...

for the Motorola RAZR maxx Ve:
Great phone with great features
I've had the phone for a week and have been very satisfied with the phone so far. Unlike other phones out there, this seems to do almost everything well. PROS: -Great Reception -Great earpiece quality & loud ringer speaker -Very clear speakerphone works with the phone closed -Excellent build quality (Rubberized paint on the metal housing, w/ very strong hinge) -Bright & crisp QVGA screen (Smoother images, better in sunlight than most) -Caller ID is displayed in large font on the external screen -Menu speed is ...

for the LG VX-8500 Chocolate:
Great looking, but the touchpad is a drawback
I have friends with this phone, and have extensively tested it out myself. PROS: -It's very attractive -Unique slider form factor and is available in 4 additional colors -QVGA screen -Finally modern display themes in blue and various other colors. -Good sound quality -Above average reception for an LG CONS: -The heat sensitive touchpad is real pain; One touch can cause menus option to scroll by three at a time or give no response at all. Changing the sensitivity doesn't help much either. It has a steep ...

for the LG VX-6100:
Impressive feature set, horrible phone
I don't own this phone, but numerous friends do and I was seriously considering it when switching to Verizon. I know it's discontinued but people are still getting them at indirects or used ones. The feature set on this phone is impressive for a mid-range phone, however the phone has many problems. Everyone I know with one has had it replaced multiple times due to screens blanking out, excessive dropped calls or the phone freezing and rebooting. Everytime I ...

for the Motorola RAZR V3m:
Excellent phone, excellent design, highly variable software
I've used both the Verizon and Amp'd Mobile versions of this phone. Both do a great job of being a phone first. However, the software on the V3m is different on every carrier. Each carrier allows/blocks features based on what they can gain. PROS (regardless of carrier): -Sleek metal design -Thin and lightweight -Outstanding reception -Outstanding call quality -Very well-built -Loud Ringers -Large screen -Bright backlighting PROS unique to Verizon's V3m: -VZ Navigator -Built in music/media player -Well organized / simple to use recent calls menus / contacts list -Good choice of ...

for the LG VX-8300:
Good, but not great
My best friend has this phone. I've used it for extended periods, & have done all sorts of testing. Overall, it's a good phone with an admirable feature set, but it does have some MINOR drawbacks. PROS: -Lightweight/relatively compact -Nice design -Good earpeice volume -Better reception than most LG's (but see cons) -Sounds nearly landline quality from the other end. -Stereo speakers -Feels sturdy (but see cons) -Can customize all 4 scroll wheel shortcuts -Can choose from animated flash themes & change menu bar colors -VZ Navigator CONS: -Although this ...

for the Nokia 6215i:
Terrible, take any other phone over this
I cannot believe Nokia chose to brand this thing. As many may already know, this phone is actually made by Pantech, but branded as a Nokia for marketing. PROS: -Black color makes it look semi-cool -Good size and weight CONS: -The screen is way too small, which normally isn't a problem, but the Verizon UI menu icons fill half the screen and leave almost no room for a wallpaper or to see the options in each submenu. Options with a long name wont ...

for the Motorola KRZR K1m:
Great phone, but Verizon's version is oversimplified
PROS: -Absolutely amazing to look at -Call quality is excellent -Feels great in your hand / Great size -Screen is quite clear due to the number of pixels (but see cons) -Square keypad has a tactile feel (but see cons) -Finally, Vibrate AND Ring -Ability to select all 4 scroll wheel shortcuts -Ability to change the internal and external wallpapers separately CONS: -The Verizon interface removes many of the options found on the Alltel KRZR. -Menus slower than the E815 -All remnants of the Motorola interface have been removed and ...

for the Motorola V323 / V325 / V323i / V325i:
V325: Verizon's best entry level phone
I picked one of these up for a relative of mine, and it truly is a great phone. In my opinion it blows the other entry level Verizon phones out of the water. The main reason is the fact that it does what a phone is meant to do and does it well. PROS: -Great Reception -Excellent call clarity -Attractive phone, looks very professional -Outstanding build quality / Feels great in hand -High quality large screen (especially for an entry level camera phone) -Large buttons with ...

for the LG VX-5200 / 6200:
An average mid-range phone
A good friend of mine has this phone and so far it has been a decent phone, but it definitely could use some improvements. PROS: -Small and lightweight -Decent call quality -Attractive design -Reasonably good build quality -Very easy to use (almost too easy) -Good phone for the price -Verizon's network is great overall CONS: -Mediocre reception (does not work in many places where a Motorola V325, E815 or V710 do) -The speakerphone is terrible (nearly worthless) -Internal screen is rather washed out -Keypad buttons feel cheap and will likely ...

for the LG VX-4500:
Very mediocre phone
A relative bought one of these in mid 2004 and it lasted about 14 months. He used it only for phonebook and calls, so Get It Now, ringers & games were not an issue. For the time it was released, this phone was pretty decent. It was probably better than the T720 but not by much. Reception was fairly good usually (probably because of Verizon) but in fringe areas his phone would show 4 bars, then when calling would ...

for the Samsung SPH-A660 / VI660:
There's a good reason it's free....
To be honest, this phone does have some strong points, but it fails to function well as a phone. My mom picked up this phone a few months after I got my Samsung A460 (older phone). The A460 had mediocre to poor reception, and yet still could make calls where A660 could not. The A460 was a piece of junk and the A660 was not much better. When we complained about signal with Sprint, the store reps basically said ...

for the Samsung SPH-A460:
What a horrible phone!
The phrase "looks can be deceiving" hold true with this phone. I know it's no longer offered but this is for those considering buying it off E-Bay. This phone actually started out as a great phone. It has a clean design, good size, and decent signal. The wow of this phone quickly passed as the phone got hot after 5 minutes of use. The paint was literally chipping off the phone! After a year with the phone the battery ...

for the Motorola V265 / V266 / V276:
Great basic phone
I picked out this phone for my mom when we signed up for Verizon in February. She really likes the phone, and so far we have not experienced any of the issues noted in other reviews. The phone has not frozen up PROS: -Amazing reception (just like V710/E815 can make calls where no other flips can) -Loud earpiece (not quite as crisp as V710/E815 but still very good) -Sounds landline clear when getting calls -Great speakerphone/Voice dialing -Cool black/silver Design -External display always shows time/signal/battery ...

for the Motorola V60v:
What a shame
I had a Motorola StarTac when my family first got Sprint and it got great reception and had excellent call quality. When that fell in water I got a Samsung, and after 18 months (4 months of which the phone was practically dead) I was eligible for a new phone with $150 mail-in rebate. I got very excited to see a new Motorola for Sprint. I ordered it online as I had no other choice. I got the phone, ...

for the Motorola V710:
Great PHONE! not a camera, a PHONE
I got the V710 in February when I signed up for Verizon. The first thing I have to say is this phone looks great. Verizon is filled with boring silver LG and Samsung phones, so the 2-tone black and silver turns heads. Next, RECEPTION, RECEPTION, RECEPTION. During the 6 months I used this phone, I only dropped 1 call, and that was in the mountains where my brother's LG wouldn't even work. This phone almost always has 5 bars ...

for the Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood:
Best Phone For Verizon, Highly Recommend
I previously used a Motorola V710 which was the until now, the best phone I've ever used. Basically, Motorola took a great phone and made it even better with the E815. PROS: -Great reception and call quality (as good as V710 minus analog) -Great speakerphone and can use w/ flip closed -Good Camera for a cell phone (better than V710 especially indoors and at night) -Good looking (so was the V710) -Great Battery life (if used in a strong EV-DO only area) -Great keypad layout -Feels fairly ...
