for the HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek):
Best Smartphone Flip...EVER...
Wow, what a great phone. Better than I thought it would be. First off, got this phone for my mom and I recently got to use it for a few days and it really makes for a great device. Call quality and RF performance is great (definitely the best I've experienced out of all the smartphones & PPC phones I've used so far). I'm also digging the form factor (matte black look, very thin, and ...

for the HTC 8125 / 8100 / MDA (USA) / K-JAM / P4300 (Wizard):
Awesomeness rolled up in a small (but really thick) package..
My SX66 decided to crap out on me so I had to XBM it. Cingular didn't have any refurb SX66s, so I was offered the 8125. It's been great to me so far. The 8125 is a good phone with all the features of a PPC. It performs well in the RF department and and decent call quality (suffers a bit when you're in a low signal area). One handed operation is doable (wish it had a few more hardware ...

for the Sanyo SCP-5500 / VM-4500:
Sanyo in name only...
Ah, the Sanyo 5500/VM4500. The very last phone I owned before leaving Sprint. This phone seemed to be the spiritual successor to the 5300. Had a better camera with video recording, nicer displays, push to talk capabilities (readylink), and so on. Seemed to be the best phone released by Sanyo at that time right? Wrong. It wasn't a bad phone by any means, it just wasn't...well...a Sanyo. The RF performance on this ...

for the Sanyo SCP-4900:
The 4900, true workhorse!
When I was on Sprint a few years back, this phone was the undisputed RF King. The 4900 was a true workhorse. This phone could practically pull down a signal anywhere and was pretty much indestructible. If all you needed was a reliable phone, this was it. Sure it was a little on the bulky side, screen was a little smallish but like I said before, this phone is a true workhorse. Notable features: ...

for the Sanyo SCP-8100:
Just another entry in the long list of good Sanyo phones...
When I had service with Sprint, I was a big fan of Sanyo phones. I owned the 5300, this one, the 4900 (the workhorse), and the VM4500. Sanyo phones, IMHO, were the best around. Solid performers (RF perf. & voice quality), good build quality, and were overall just great phones. The 8100 was no exception. Sure it had a craptacular camera (like most phones), small main display, lack of connectivity options (no bluetooth, IR, ...

for the Samsung SPH-A620 / VGA1000:
So So...
It was a decent phone when I had it. Good build quality - felt solid, no squeaks or creaks. Ok RF and Ok call quality. Also had a loud earpiece and speaker. It was a good phone, just nothing extraordinary.

for the Nokia 3390:
The phone to own in the late 90s...
It seems like everybody had this phone back in the late 90s. I remember having at least 3 of these. People used to customize 3390s like crazy back then (do clear faceplates/housings, LED antennas & batteries bring back any memories? haha). Make no mistake, this was one solid phone though. It was refreshing to have a phone that was smaller than the bulky 5190 and/or the 6190 and yet had just as good (if not ...

for the Sony Ericsson T68i:
Small phone packed with features
This little phone was something when it was released. I obviously don't have it now but I thought I'd take time to review some older phones I've used in the past (been bored lately). When I bought this phone, I thought it would be a great update to the aging T39m, which still remains one of my all time favorites. Feature-wise, the T68i was an upgrade. It had a larger screen than the T39 (color ...

for the Siemens SX66 / MDA III / PDA2K (HTC Blue Angel):
Works well, just needs a few tweaks here and there...
This is my first Pocket PC Phone so please bear with me as I have nothing to compare it to. As a phone, it somewhat works. It's really wide, and with me having small hands doesn't make a good combination. Makes one handed operation a no go for me. Anyway, it exhibits ok RF performance and good call quality. Not the best, but the not the worst either. Speakerphone works well, good volume. Not so great out of the ...

for the HTC SDA (USA) / SP5m (Tornado):
Jack Of All Trades...
Wow, this phone really does it all. There are so many great features on the SDA, especially the built-in Wi-Fi. All phones should have this feature built-in. It also performs very well as a phone with its awesome RF performance, excellent call quality, and good battery life. I recently sold my Motorola MPx200 & MPx220 smartphones to get the SDA and I don't regret it one bit. This phone is a jack of all ...

for the Motorola MPx200:
Behind the times
Wow, I had just finished typing a very long and detailed review for this phone. Just when I was about to submit it, my computer crashed. No way I'm redoing it. So my basic review goes like this: Horrible as a phone, lacks many useful features, but is a decent multimedia device, and a load of useful smartphone software is readily available. PROS: -It's a smartphone (able to sync appts., contacts, tasks, emails, etc. to/from your computer...tons ...

for the Motorola RAZR V3:
Solid...
I've had my V3 for a few months now and I think it's a great phone. Excellent RF performance, sleek design, and not to mention it's quad band with decent features. Makes an excellent primary or back up phone. PROS: -Excellent RF performance (on par with my work horse phone, the Nokia 3595) -Sleek design (I really like the slim design coupled with the aluminum faceplate and battery cover) -Excellent battery life (I usually recharge once a week unless the phone ...

for the LG C1300 / G4015:
Junk!!!
This phone is just pure junk, plain and simple. My dad had one awhile back and "accidentally" dropped it in water not too long ago. Sure Pops, whatever you say. Either way, he has a decent phone now while this piece of junk has been put to rest. Where did this phone go wrong? From the short time I used it when I borrowed it from my old man, the phone exhibited its shortcomings soon enough. ...

for the Nokia 6230:
Good phone with a few problems...
I had this phone for a short period of time and I believe I must've gotten a buggy unit. My phone was Cingular branded with v5.34 firmware. My phone exhibited the same bugs that many users have had with this particular model and firmware, i.e., the continuous scrolling contacts problem along with the phone randomly freezing when left idle. The RF performance was decent, but nothing extraordinary like most people claim. But again, my ...

for the Nokia 3595:
Solid RF performer!!!
First off, I bought this phone purely as a backup for the purpose of making/receiving calls only. No wap browsing or anything of the kind. The RF performance on this phone is amazing. Makes and holds onto calls where most of my phones would either drop the call or garble the conversation. Considering I purchased this phone used on ebay for only $10, I had to give it a 5/5. PROS: *Excellent RF performance *Typical Nokia quality *Big fan ...

for the Motorola MPx220:
Great Phone...Packed with features...
This is my first Windows Mobile device and I'm loving it so far. There are so many applications available for this platform that it's dizzying. The MPx220 is a great phone packed with a multitude features and is a solid performer with a few quirks. Pros: **It's a smartphone (there are so many useful and fun apps available for WM2003 devices) **Can play mp3's, wma's, movies, games, etc. **Variety of connectivity options - bluetooth, IR, USB **Decent RF performance **Stylish design (I'm a ...

for the Nokia 6101 / 6102:
Nokia quality in a flip...can't ask for more...
Recently purchased this phone for my mom and it's been great so far. I've been able to use this phone for a few days and hasn't let me down. My mom loves this phone (big step up from a Samsung x427m). Also, Nokia quality in a clamshell form factor...NICE!! Pros: *Excellent RF (It's a Nokia, duh!) *Speakerphone *EDGE support *Great sounding call quality and loud ringers *Typical Nokia quality Cons: *Volume is a little low. I had to use the highest earpiece volume ...

for the Sanyo SCP-5300:
A solid performer...
This phone was a solid performer when I still had Sprint service awhile back. I believe it was one of the first built-in camera phones released in the U.S. It possessed a decent array of features with excellent RF performance and call quality (Thanks Sanyo!) PROS: *Excellent RF performance and call quality (tri-mode as well) *Great main and outer displays *Great build quality *VGA camera with flash *Bundled with 2 batteries, standard and extended CONS: *Early production models were notorious for having low ear piece ...

for the Audiovox CDM-9900:
Superb!
I purchased this phone last year for $50 with contract through VZW. What a steal! Phone has been great to me the past 9 months and has to be one of my favorites so far. PROS: *Unrivaled main display *Awesome RF performance and sound quality (tri-mode as well) *VGA camera with flash and video recording *Great speaker phone *Loud ear piece and ringers *Cool "flashlight" feature CONS: *Build quality (phone doesn't feel as solid as other phones I've owned) *Outer display not very visible outdoors (or even ...

for the Ericsson T39:
One of the all time greats...
Nothing could touch this phone when it was released back in the day. Unique styling, packed with features, excellent RF performance and call quality, great battery life, so many available accessories, and the list goes on. I've owned a T39mc and T39m and I have regretted selling both. The T39 is definitely a classic. PROS: *Excellent RF performance & sound quality *Superb battery life *Unique styling *Small form factor & lightweight *So many features (IR, Bluetooth, spacious phone book, data capabilities, voice ...

for the Nokia 3100 / 3120:
Great basic phone
This is a great basic phone. It leaves a lot to be desired when compared to many feature-rich phones, but overall it makes a great basic phone and a worthy back up phone as well. PROS: *Great RF performance *Speaker phone *Small and lightweight *Decent batery life *Always been a fan of Nokia's UI *Like the synchronized lighting/vibrating for incoming calls CONS: *4k STN screen *CAll quality - voices tend to sound "tinny" *Not many features (reflected in price) *Buttons are small and spaced too close together *Not a big fan ...

for the Motorola V500 / V525 / V505:
Great phone so far...
The V500 is a great phone with a myriad of great features and is also a great performer. PROS: *Great call quality *Good RF performance (a step below most of the Nokias I've owned) *Bluetooth *Speaker phone *Main display quality (65k TFT) *Customizable *Decent ringer & ear piece volume *Decent built-in camera *PC Sync capabilities CONS: *No EDGE support (it's an older phone though) *Phone book (WTH was Motorola thinking?) *Wish there was a color outer display *No flash for camera *Wish there was more memory *Moderate battery life
