for the Apple iPhone 6s:
Still a great phone
If you use a phone for making calls, texting, some email and other app based tasks, this is (still) a good choice for the money. While gamers and heavy net based users might go for the 7, 8 or 10, (plus or not) the differences may not justify the added cost. This phone just works. Good sound quality, connectivity (all the LTE Bands you need), a decent camera (if you want a great camera, get an SLR), good (but ...

for the Nokia 6085 / 6086:
Best non-smart phone I have used
I bought two of these phones (6085) in Hong Kong, unlocked. It is cheap, but well built and feature packed. The basic phone functions are rock solid; Pros: Superb RF performance. Excellent battery life. Loud and clear ear piece and speakerphone - works well as a desk top speaker phone. Nice keypad; good tactile feel. A folder - personal preference. Readable display. Flawless BT performance. Durable. Series 40 w/snappy menus. EDGE. Nice SMS implementation; I like the RECENT feature. Workable MP3 player. Radio. Native email client (POP and IMAP). Java capable. Micro SD card (up ...

for the Nokia N80:
Not at all happy
I wanted to love the N80, I gave it 10 days. I made excuses for it's behavior and tried to rationalize myself into accepting the flaws and quirks. But I have gone back to my trusty 6230. IMO the 6230 was the best Nokia phone ever made if it was a quad band it would be perfect. The 6230 does everything you would want a phone to do: it is light, small, physically solid, rock solid stable (to be ...

for the Nokia 6270:
Nokia 6270, A keeper
Bought the 6270 off the WEB (about $400). Made in Germany with 128mb miniSD card, dark brown color, unlocked. I had been using a 6230 for about 18 months so it was a little hard to get used to the 6270. I have only used the phone a few days so here are some early observations. PROS: The sound quality, display and RF performance are superb. Basic phone functions are solidly Nokia. Excellent Bluetooth implementation. Quad band ...

for the Nokia 6682 / 6681:
The 6680 (not 6680 or 6682)
I picked up an unlocked 6680 in Singapore and am using it with my Hong Kong based carrier (CSL). I am US based, but spend a lot of time in Asia. The 6680 is like the 668X except it is 3G and has a camera in the front. This is the best S60 product I have seen or used. It has flash version 3.04.12 which is close to the latest version (something like 3.04.57). Pros: 1. S60 UI and features. ...

for the Nokia 6230:
The best so far
I picked up an unlocked 900\1800\1900 6230 in Amsterdam and am using it with T-Mobile USA. Different people have different requirements for mobile technology, but this is by far the best (GSM) phone for general use I have found. It is the smartest non-smart phone I have seen. Pros: - Size, small but not too small. Easily fits in shirt pocket (or purse for the ladies). - Clean design, solid but not too heavy. - Excellent RF performance. Nokia blows Mot ...

for the Motorola V600:
Very nice phone
Picked up an unlocked V600 in Singapore. I was originally attracted to the Quad band feature (using T-Mobile USA (thin coverage in US) but anticipating 850 MHz roaming). PROS: Size and weight. Metal covers. Reception (a little better than my T39m). Color screen - large, clear & bright. Useful/visible 2nd display. Nice iTAP implementation. Robust GPRS. Robust voice dialling. Bluetooth implementation (but takes some playing around to figure out the settings - very nice implementation for headsets, but not ...

for the Sony Ericsson T68i:
Picked up a cheap T68i
I picked up an unlocked T68i for about $100 USD. Stuck my US T-Mobile SIM in it and haven't looked back. I gave it a 4.5 and not a 5 simply because it has a "plastic" feel to it (and it is made in China not Sweden). The biggest complaint that I have read about this phone is the RF performance. I have dragged this phone around the US and Europe and can say that ...

for the Ericsson T39:
The best phone I have ever owned
I purchased this phone when it first came out, about 2.5 years now (unlocked). I use it with T-Mobile and sometime Vodafone. I have carried it all over the world (N & S Amer, Eur, Asia, China, Australia and Mid East). It is a work horse. G R E A T battery life, loud earpiece, great reception, auto-tune between bands. Bluetooth link to my iPAQ (very handy for SMS control and phonebook mgmt). GPRS is solid (with latest firmware). ...

for the Motorola v60i (CDMA) / v60ci / v60ic:
Very nice phone
I have used this phone for a week. Reception is at least as good as my old Star Tac (a typical benchmark). Form and style are solid, attractive and ergonomically well thought out. I have no use for games so no comment there. Antenna is solid, not fragile like many other phones. Sound quality is very good - better than my Star Tac and many other phones I have tried. No 1xrtt (3G) ...
