for the LG G4 (GSM):
A reasonable upgrade from G3
Good: B12 LTE with VoLTE Clear screen and it looks better than G3 Speaker is loud and balanced Removable battery microSD (currently I am using 128GB) Backside operation Tap to wake G3 screen protector can be used on G4 Bad: It can be very hot sometimes Touch sensitivity (except you have 10n update) Bloat can hinder the operation (but you can root it to remove) If you're with T-Mobile, upgrading from G3 to G4 makes more sense because it has B12 LTE. Battery is similar with G3. "Halo effect" is gone on G4

for the Samsung Behold II:
the phone is totally different after flashing with custom ROM
First of all, I agree with other posters that the branding ruined.the great software, but some developed custom ROM saved the phone. Pro: grogeous AMOLED screen, LOTS of RAM, good camera, 3.5 jack, can be easily tethered with Kies suite, good calling quality. Con: bad software, typing can be difficult, cube button is useless. Fortunately, some developers at androidforums made some good custom ROMs, which can save the phone. I give 2 stars with original software: 4 stars with right custom software.

for the HTC Touch Pro2 (GSM) / Tilt 2:
one of the real PDA phone you should get, no matter the cost
I think I seldom to recommend branded phone this one is an exception, a big exception. The phone itself is very expensive, probably the most expensive after BB 88xx and 8900. Voice: it's fantastic, no matter through earpiece, a headphone plugged in HTC 3.5 headset adapter, or bluetooth, both earpiece and mic are exceptionally good, the noise cancelling is also good, the friend on the other side even didn't notice I was watching TV when talking. Reception: 2G is so-so, don't expect to ...

for the Nokia 6263:
a great phone after de-branded
this one is 2nd unit though I liked the first unit, some quirk made me not happy but the second unit (fw version 5.20, and de-branded) is a lot better reception remains the same, still needs 3 bars to maintain decent speed, but 3G icon is there*, as well as E icon* I don't have earpiece problem as other mentioned, it's loud and clear, though I use bt headset most of the time, and I can even play music over it (poor quality ...

for the Sony Ericsson TM506:
very good reception, kinda weak earpiece, no lockdown
got the phone today after some simple setup, found the phone is very good I was concerned about internet because the display units don't work, but the one I bought works perfectly, t-zones, streaming, Google Maps, tethering the reception is very good, at least on par with K790a on 2G part earpiece is kinda weak, but this is common problem on SE phones, be prepared with it, as well as speakerphone media player uses new PSP-like platform, just be aware of that, this phone ...

for the Nokia 3555:
a decent UMTS phone for tethering
I bought this phone after checking FCC documentation 6263 seems to have better spec, except.....3G reception, I often unable to make internet connection even it has 2 bars after checking the FCC documentation, I found 6263 has poor 3G reception, I didn't notice that before 3G went active in NYC everything is pretty basic, but the root part works pretty well, on both 2G and 3G voice is better than 6263, as well as reception but this phone is not good as music player, ...

for the Sony Ericsson W580 / S500:
decent slider, with kinda cheap built
I have S500i, basically like W580i in many ways the phone is pretty thin, about 2/3 thickness as 6263 closed I like slider form factor, that the keys locked when the phone retracted, this is pretty easy, but you can't hang up when you retract the phone except you set it the LCD is bright, but doesn't show standby clock-a minus cam is OK as it doesn't have AF, no lighting-another minus the reception is good, but still nowhere near W300i and N73, about ...

for the Sony Ericsson K550 / W610:
a successor of W810?
I received this phone about 2 weeks ago from a local store in NYC the first impression is: slim, it's about 2/3 thickness of W810 initially charged the battery, flashed to Hong Kong version, put SIM in, the phone works right away the LCD has brighter and better color than W810, but I hear a rumor, that there're 2 different hardware version, mine is black like W810, unable to show clock when the phone is idle the phone has 64MB of memory, this ...

for the Sony Ericsson W810:
good phone, but avoid Cingular version
I got it unbranded from myworldphone, used davinciteam.com flash to Hong Kong version the form factor is nice, reminds me of good old T637 it has good reception, about the same as Z710i the cam is good, but the pic is "pixelated" even though it has auto focus I don't use audio player feature because it lacks ogg vorbis support, and no local realaudio support like Z710i, but FM radio is pretty good, reception is good like SRF-S83, RDS is pretty cool, displaying ...

for the Sony Ericsson W710 / Z710 / W712 / Z712:
Z710i is so nice
this is the 2nd SE after T637 I had happy experience with it using as phone and modem purchased in Hong Kong, this phone supports Trad Chinese and English standby screen: pretty bright and beautiful, 176x208 is barely same as W810, the outer screen can be set always on to display clock without opening it, but the outer screen is mono color, it may be plus to view outdoors voice: this is fine, but I just used it for 2 days, that I ...

for the HTC 8125 / 8100 / MDA (USA) / K-JAM / P4300 (Wizard):
a pretty nice data phone
I got it unlocked, works pretty well with Wataniya, I did unbrand procedure, that get rid T-Mobile stuff currently I don't need reception: at least as good as nokias (compared with 6270), even don't need antenna cut, report says the new official ROM (2.26) fixed signal searching problem sound: loud and clear through earpiece, speakerphone is fine, audio play is good, with 2.26 ROM, a2dp is included operation: general WM5 operation, but something I don't like is: I can't copy contacts into ...

for the HTC SDA (USA) / SP5m (Tornado):
an excellent all-around phone
I ordered through ebay unlocked to use with Wataniya (Kuwait phone service) the phone reception is good like expected, quad-band makes it work pretty well in Kuwait pros: almost complete audio/video playback with TCPMP excellent reception miniUSB connector (charge phone when tethered with laptop) fast class10 EDGE (up to 225k real world dl) a2dp support with addon easliy unlocked (check spv-developers.com) small QVGA display cons: pretty small buttons, you may need to keep fingernail in order to press confusing WAP/MMS setup with other service screen gets scratched easily miniSD is not hot-swappable (requires battery ...

for the Nokia 6270:
pretty nice phone, but overpriced for S40
I got the phone when I was in Hong Kong the supply is pretty tight finally I got Hong Kong version, the price is HKD3480 (about $445) the phone is brown/black, it's fine for me, the finish is in aluminum on front and battery cover you can't use BL-6C on this phone (no more space under the battery cover) the reception is standard nokia type, no surprise, nor disappointment the speaker is pretty loud (stereo), the stereo ringtone/ringsound is pretty cool the keypad is BIG, pretty ...

for the Sony Ericsson T637:
works pretty well with T-Mobile
I bought this phone because nokia 6820 has severe problem on bt with Dell this phone, on the other hand, works pretty well with Dell Axim RF is pretty good too, it works pretty well on T-Mobile 1900 GPRS is class 8, good enough to work as modem I read somebody complain the headset need to plug into the expansion port, but since I have bt headset, this is not a problem the LCD looks excellent, and readable under sunlight no speakerphone is not good, ...
