Good, and bad sides
Being my first android based device, I was pretty stoked to get the cliq. The motoblur feature is awesome, and the customization options of the android os are amazing. But my one major gripe is that less than three days after getting it, an accidental drop, and the whole display had spider web style cracks on it! Motorola should have really designed these things with a better quality screen. I'm now having to replace a device I paid retail ...
The Storm Faltered
Okay all, I just upgraded from this device. I was not impressed at all! PROS: -First Touch based UI for an RIM device -Fast Web response CONS: -Touch pad is far from durable, which dissapointed me. RIM's record for durable devices was shot up when this phone came online. -Way too bulky for a smartphone. -Battery life isn't good. Mine died within six hours of being on standby. -OTA updates weren't active before the device was sold. Mine had the first version OS, it stinks!
Ouch, the instincts were wrong
Okay all, while I'm a verizon user, I recently assisted a friend with the acticvation of his new S30 series Instinct. While Sprint and Samsung say the UI is improved over the M800, honestly, I'm not impressed. PROS: -Opera Mini Browser Option was a smart decision for Both Sprint and Samsung -The M810's smaller size is cool CONS: -The SD memory card was only a 1 gig. Not cool. -Self Activation Process is buggy. Had to call Sprint's Tech Support twice! -Web Svcs never activated ...
Wow! I now have Env. :-)
Okay all, it takes a lot for me to be impressed by a phone, but when my storm died, I decided to, rather than using my upgrade, bought a totally new device. The guy at the verizon store in Salt Lake advised me to try the Env touch, and it was worth every penny! This phone is amazing! Pros: -Voyager Styling and flexibility -Has the full qwerty keypad, unlike the dare -Battery life on mine is exceptional so far -Thinner than the voyager, and ...
Love it!
I've played with several, and recently got one of my own after canning a blackberry, and I love this thing! Pros: Easy to learn UI. Great memory capacity Not your average touch screen based device. Cons: The battery does drain fast. It's kinda bulky.
Not impressed
I've seen three of these in action, but while sprint did improve the UI, the overall performance of the phone is sub par.
