Re: battery life
Every phone with a non-removable battery that I've seen has a key combination that simulates a battery pull.
They used to be huge!
I can't believe how quickly they became nothing in the wireless world. I realize they still have customers, but unless you already have a Blackberry who would even consider them now??
Re: Verizon's new pricing plans
The problem is you can't see the individual plans w/o going through the trouble of picking a phone now to get the plans section.
Bad move they'd be wise to clean that up and not irritate potential customers.
Re: Verizon gave me upgrade early
Jay if you read on Verizon's website the actual users of the Charge commented quite a few times that the signal strength was good. I have no personal experience with the phone.
Re: Verizon gave me upgrade early
Sorry I should have been more detailed with my reply. Yes I like having the newest phone out so to speak, but 3 things matter the most. Battery life (but I have NO problem having a thicker phone with an extended battery), voice quality (signal strength, call quality, etc), finally just a higher end phone (nice screen, quick, and powerful). I know I don't ask for that much right :). I'm not ...
Verizon gave me upgrade early
I am looking for some opinions on phones and what to do. I have the Droid X2 now (long story on that)and I like it just fine. Should I hold out for an upcoming phone or pickup a Bionic or some other phone now? I also like HTC phones, but both DINC 1 & 2 had poor signal strength. Is the Thunderbolt better in this regard? Give some ideas guys.
Thanks,
Chad
Verizon or ?
Are these coming to Verizon? I apologize if I missed that.
Re: from a girl's point of view
Chris,
So you have had both the phones I am debating getting.
What are the differences? Have you notice a big battery difference? How about signal? Any other thoughts?
Thanks for any feedback! :)
Ok so I am going to upgrade so X or Incredible???
I now this is probably a difficult choice, but which phone would you guys choose?
I don't mind the larger size of the X.
I want the better battery life and signal strength. Although I have a Seidio battery from my Eris that looks to fit the Incredible.
Verizon's website the Incredible is reviewed better, but here the X has the better reviews.
Any thoughts or suggestions guys?
Thanks for any input. :)
Re: Looking for advice
What are your thoughts on upgrading? Worth waiting or go for it now?
Looking for advice
Verizon told me yesterday I can upgrade early. I currently have the Eris. I am debating upgrading to the X or the Incredible, but I also was considering waiting until Christmas.
Like Jay said in another post LTE is right around the corner. So getting a new phone then is a bit silly.
Do you guys think Verizon will let people upgrade early to an LTE device once they are available and your market has service?
I am ...
Re: Verizon 3G is getting flaky where I live now...
I live in Grand Rapids and thought I dropped my 3G connection the other day as well. I also think the 3G has been slower/flaky the last few days as well. I don't think you are crazy. Maybe it's a network issue. I don't know how connected Lansing and GR would be though.
When Verizon installs LTE in Michigan it will be Detroit or Grand Rapids before Lansing I would think.
Not that is matters ...
Re: jumping ship
I came from an iPhone and Blackberries.
I can't knock a Blackberry besides to say they need to modernize the OS a bit. Maybe OS 6 will address all that. They have the best "phone" part. Signal and battery life are unreal on a Blackberry.
As for Android the "phone" itself works. You know the phone part, making calls, yeah iPhone would drop calls where any other AT&T phone I used had a full signal.
I ...
Re: How Exactly Will This Work
I saw a video where users were trying it in Boston I believe. The speeds were about 8Meg up and 2 down. People were saying it was faster than their home internet. of course there wuldn't be any congestion on that test :) . I wish I had both hands to find a link, but I am typing one handed holding my baby girl.
Re: Verizon Wireless Network Extender
I read an article somewhere that there is a new one coming out that does both voice and data. Is that still coming out?
Re: Somebody kill me please
I couldn't agree with you more. Get an itouch (if you really have that much Apple love) and a phone that actually works. I love my Eris!
Re: Need To Vent
In my opinion the Iphone only has 2 weaknesses and they are deal breakers for heavy users. The phone is garage. I live in a 5 bar all the time AT&T area and had the 3G. The signal would jump all over the place and drop calls in my house upstairs sitting in front of a window.
The second bad thing is the non-removable battery, which makes the Iphone (which is an awesome device) a bad choice ...
Re: When is verizon getting the IPHONE???
You know the funny thing about the "iPhone"? It is the worst phone maybe ever made. Get an itouch and then a real phone. If it doesn't work as a phone first then it is worthless. It has nothing to do with afford. If you can afford a smartphone, then an iPhone is the same thing. IPhone lovers need to think about what a device needs to do. Need to make a call and not drop it? ...
Re: curve vs tour
i agree with everyone here the Curve is an excellent phone. I wouldn't pay $500 for any phone either and I am quite the junkie.
Chad
Re: BB Tour
I agree with Chris and slines. I got mine on Sunday as well and yes the door is a little loose, but this is very nice upgrade from the Curve. The screen is freaking awesome, the clarity is very nice.
The only downside I see as a Blackberry user, is the change to the profiles. It is easy to setup a quick profile to do what you want.
Overall I am very pleased!

Alltel integration in Michigan what is going on?
So i have used alot of different carriers and in Michigan, Nextel, Alltel, Verizon, AT&T. Verizon, Alltel, and AT&T are the best in my experience.
That being said I signed up with Verizon again coming from Alltel. I got a deal to upgrade my 2 lines early with Verizon. Why not I am going to be Verizon soon enough right? I had them 3 or 4 years ago and expected nothing close to my calling issues especially with a ...
Can Verizon acitvate Alltel handsets on their network yet?
I have a buddy that wants to buy my HTC 6800. He has Verizon service and my phone was obiously through Alltel.
I can go to a Verizon corporate store, but I was hoping someone could give me a 100% certain answer.
Thanks! :)
Re: Verizon Femtocell...FINALLY!
Chris,
Do you have any dates on when the Verizon Bold version of the Bold maybe available?
Thanks!
.tif viewer for scanned documents!!!
I wanted to know if anyone has knowledge of a .tif viewer or an app that can concert them for viewing.
iphone 3G .tif viewer
All,
I am looking for something to read scanned .tif images with for the iphone. Does anyone know of any available, preferably for free?
Re: You know how you can tell the iPhone is an undustry changer?
Good post!
As with everything regarding cell phones everyone has their favorites and what works well for them.....carrier, phone, features, etc.
The key thing is everytime a carrier or phone manufacturer steps up the others play catch up. Who wins that is right the CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!
Re: So why $30 or $45 a month for personal or business data?
I understand why they raised the iphone data package prices. I just don't know how they could actually monitor which data plan you were on.
So why $30 or $45 a month for personal or business data?
So what is keeping someone from getting the $30 data package and using it with exchange email?
Help me understand why there's a price difference and why I should pay it. /;|
Re: Tethering question
Thanks for the information! :)
Tethering question
Quick question I have v3xx razr and a media net unlimited package. How much is it to add tethering for non-PDA phones?
Re: Real speeds?
I connected my razr v3xx to my laptop and got 1.9MB download speed. 8O :D :)
3G rollout
Does anyone know a timeline on AT&T's 3G rollout? I mean how many markets are covered now and by year end? I think 3G rocks, but I want to see it more wide spread.
Unfortunately EVDO is far more wide spread!
I live in Michigan and only the 2 largest cities and close burbs are covered.
I also just want to note that I have had nextel, alltel, verizon, and now the best AT&T. I travel all over ...
3G network question
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was wondering if anyone knew when the 3G upgrade was going to be done here? I heard August and obviously we are beyond that with no 3G. Thanks for your input all!
Re: LG 8600 EVDO to "regular" digital signal issue
That is good knowledge to have thank you. I thought the EVDO worked for both voice and data. Any ideas on my issue? Just a fluke or is the phone's reception not up to par with my old handset? Overall now my signal isn't as strong as with my old phone (LG 5000).
LG 8600 EVDO to "regular" digital signal issue
OK so I have had Alltel for around 2 years with great reception from my old LG 5000 handset. Now just down the road from my house in the second largest town in Michigan and my phone dropped a call. It was low EVDO and dropped instead of switching to a "regular" (for lack of a better word) signal that would have been most likely full. Is this normal or a fluke? I thought the ...
Re: Help in choosing a phone!!
I am sold on the 8600, since the battery life is fixed that was my only concern. Like I said I like the LGs on Alltel's network. Thanks everyone for your help!! I will follow up with my comments once I get it. :D
NEVERMIND!!!!
Apparently either the page didn't load right or it was very short lived. Maybe they updated some of the specs. I will check it out!
8600 and KRZR
I was just on the Alltel site and the 8600 and the KRZR are gone!!! Are they discontinued? If so that sucks, I was going to get the 8600 8O
Re: Help in choosing a phone!!
Has she had issues with her battery? I have read a few bad reviews on the phone, becuase of battery issues. I like the LG phones on Alltel's network they seem to work very well. I used to have the AX5000 and enjoyed it.
Help in choosing a phone!!
I am about to activate a new line with Alltel and wanted some opinions on which phone to choose. The most important things in this order are talk time, reception, and I prefer a phone with EVDO. I can't believe that the razr doesn't have EVDO (bad mistake). I have a personal phone that is a razr anyways so I am really not interested in having 2 of the same phones, but I want the best choice. ...
