i've heard end of october......not oct 1st.
if you look at the FCC website, they even have a counter there for you. it has to be at least 3 months for it to go through. end of october seems more likely.

well, working in customer care, i have learned to make sure to verify when things are done.
i have service through cingular/att, so each time i make a change to the account, i call on it 3 times, usually back to back to confirm everything that the previous person said and make sure it was added to my account.

i am not worrying about relocating. they have 3 call centers somewhat near where i live. if i didn't have responsibility then i would love to get my money and leave and call it good....

I might have a shot at doing cable installation for a company called Cox Communications. They specialize in phone, cable tv, cable internet. One of my parent's friends is a manager at a place that does that type of installation. i heard they work a lot but the money is good. so, who knows!

i have the 8100 Pearl and I learned that to use bluetooth, I had to go where I wanted the file to go, and if it was being sent to me, i had to hit "receive using bluetooth" and then highlight what i wanted to send, then choose, "send using bluetooth"...hope this helps!

Not sure yet. My dad is a firefighter and most of them have other full time jobs, usually in some sort of construction. If it comes down to it, I can always do that. Luckily my wife has a good, steady job with her bank that provides pretty good insurance that me and my daughter can jump on. There are many, many places that are hiring for part time around where I live, so maybe 2-3 part time jobs ...
Letters to customers
Hey guys,
I had a few people talking about customers calling in with letters about the acquisition being around October. Can anyone that has this letter or knows what I am talking about please explain what is being said in the letter. I have been told that AT&T sent the letter and that we have sent the letter to people.
Can anyone help?

rumor has it that it could be very soon, as fast as legalities can take it. not sure how true it is, but the source is usually right on the mark. with the FCC about to start bidding for the 700 band, AT&T doesn't want any other distractions, thus trying to get the acquisition as fast as possible.

Seeing how AT&T has two or three call centers in Oklahoma and in the metro area, I think it might be easier for the OKC call center to merge over. I worry for the Ohio reps though. I think as a whole, the buyout will be decent if not really good for the customers. From what I understand, AT&T has a customer base well over 60 million customers. 1st thing is to make sure the PIN is released from the company that is coming from.
2nd thing is to make sure you have a blackberry data package.
3rd thing is to put the SIM card in and let it register to EDGE. Make sure it says it in CAPS.
4th thing is to let it try to register on our network first.

I don't know. I know they have a few call centers here in OK, which is about 400 yards away from corporate H.Q. I think they will probably take some from a few places in departments like care, nba, and maybe retentions. I worry that my job in tech will be lossed, since it's a more "specialized" department.
i guess i start my job search this Monday....enjoy the weekend guys....

For what I understand though, they chose the $125 spending limit so they wouldn't have to pay a deposit! If they paid the deposit up front, then there is no spending limit.

exactly. i thought about applying for the position when i was a team lead. I never did since i can't control how a rep is going to act on the phone and no one would ever take me seriously anyways. I heard it was a lot different in Ohio though.

i would go with the Pearl. i'm sure he would need something that would work well with organizing dates for meetings, get togethers, you know and as well as good e-mail functionality. nothing beats blackberry with e-mail. that's my vote.

Sync
I have the Sync and I think it's a pretty neat phone. I haven't had a chance to get the cables that hook it up to your computer or a headset, but overall I think it's a pretty nice phone. Reception is nice and the bluetooth works nice on it as well. The more and more I use the phone, the more I like it.
