If you just want to use it as a phone then you can press the menu button (the button with 3 parallel lines) and the L button at the same time when the "waiting for activation" screen appears. This will only allow you use the SK3 for the phone and SMS services and will deduct from you balance accordingly. If you want the sidekick data service with the prepaid then you need to buy a sidekick prepaid ...

EDGE stands for Enhanced Digital rate for Global Evolution. It's GRPS (general packet radio service) that transmits up to 10x faster than regular GPRS. So you can have speeds anywhere from 1 to 10 megabits per second. In other words, yes the internet on the SK3 is faster and more efficient than that of the SK2.

Try this out and I hope it works out for you
1. Hard reset your sidekick --> (turn it off and take the battery out, wait 30 seconds and then put the battery back in and turn it back on)
2. Press all at the same time "menu button" + shift button + x --> this deletes the flash memory.
3. Press all at the same time "menu button" + shift button + r --> this deletes the sign in settings

Any bluetooth will work with the sidekick 3. From what I've noticed the H700 is a good earpiece although some people have had some problems. I use the samsung WEP200. The sound quality is very good (I ride in my car with the windows down and have no trouble on either end). My suggestion is to evaluate your needs in a bluetooth and to read reviews online to find which is thebest fit for you.

Just bought a 2Gb MiniSD card from newegg.com for 25 shipped. All you have to do is put it in your slot and then press the menu button from the jump screen --> settings --> memory card --> then select format now and the computer will recognize it when you hook up to the USB. Also 2Gb is the maximum size card that the sidekick 3 will support.

It depends on what market you're in. Places like LA and New York and Pheonix, Arizona (pretty much just the huge, high volume markets) or huge metropolitan areas were the only retail stores to get the LRG and DVF. Since the phone isn't released yet you're going to have to wait a little but your best bet is to call customer care after researching t-mobile.com

The trackball problem has to do the phone itself. You should probably take it to a T-Mobile store to have them evaluate it and see if your device qualifies for a warranty exchange. When you get a sidekick 3 without the data plan you have a phone, no IM, no internet, and no data backup through danger's servers. With you can text and call but that's it. Look at it this way...it costs 10 cents to send or receive a text message and it costs 14.99 a month for unlimited text. So that means if you send or receive 150 text messages that's already 15 dollars in a month. ...
