These started to get delivered to stores 5 days ago. Played with one for a little while and liked it. Comes with a cradle for charging and connecting to computer. The cradle has both the proprietary 18 pin connector that's found on some lg and the casio 711, as well as a mini usb plug.

Tgoace is correct. VZW will not disable delivery acknowledgement and will turn on the markets that they already disabled.

Right now they are doing it in certain markets. By the end of the month delivery acknowledgement will be disabled on all devices. No checkmark or d for delivered, depending on the phone you have. arearedoicertaimarkets.

Re: BB on VZW without a data/BB plan?
Sep 11, 2008, 9:18 AM
in the Verizon forum

If you go with the pay per KB option on a smart phone you will be paying $0.015 per KB that sums up to $15.36 per MB. Now anyone knows that one email, certain websites, or even small amounts of browsing can rack up a lot of MB. Let me be honest. Yes data plans look costly, but using data without them will be even more costly. Think about the person who goes on a 450 min plan even ...

*228 does nothing, other that update you PRL (Preferred Roaming List). This will not update the phones software nor anything else for that matter, other than the PRL. You will have to go to options, advanced options, applications and uninstall. Then go to the VZStart page which is you Blackberry's home page if you haven't already changed it. If you have changed it you can either get link from history or reset homepage for a little while. I am ...

I agree with you Matt_a. But a lot of customers don't get that point. Almost 90+ percents of phones has over $200 difference between 2 year sale price and full retail price. Take my Blackberry phone for instance. $429.99 full retail, $99.99 after $50 rebate. Take the $329.99 buy some accessories, buy a few drinks and put the rest in a savings account to pay your termination fee when you don't get your way. Even take a lower end ...

VZW to start offering Month to Month contracts.
Sep 10, 2008, 10:11 AM
in the Verizon forum

As of 9/21/08 The Big Red (Verizon Wireless) is gonna be offering customers who buy Full Retail or use their own equipment no contract plans. These customers will be offered the same line up of plans and features as contractual customers. This is definatly gonna change the industry and customers should be very happy. Now there is no excuse that you have to always sign a contract. Just fork up the money and you will be contract free. You ...

A lot of people are saying in their reviews that there is no zoom while browsing the web. If I remember correctly after using this phone for a few days, there is zoom. If you press the volume up/down key it does increase and decrease text size.

The plans are actually pretty good considering that those who paying $44.99 and not using corp email, will be able to save $15. Some people will complain about everything.

Re: comparison with unlimited data plan
Apr 14, 2008, 11:06 AM
in the Article: Verizon Wireless Changes Smartphone Plans forum

Plans is exactly the same without the Corp email option. There is no 5GB cap on email/web browging on PDA, the cap only comes into play when you do tethering. The cost of tethering on the $29.99 email option will be $30 to make it $59.99 just like BroadBand Access through PC cards. Right now there are a limited selection in supported phones but that will change soon.

When the phone is closed the music isn't as loud as mentioned before, but the music menu on the outside of the phone looks great. On the other hand when the phone is open the menu is the same old one on all the phones except the Chocolate/Venus. Also with the phone open the speaker is amazing. The internet package will be $1.99 for 1MB of data. If you get the voyager you will have to switch to the New Nation wide plan where you get mobile web for free. In this case if you have a premium plan then you are all set my friend. V-cast is the only internet you need for this phone. You will not have to pay $44.99 for unltd internet.

The Voyager will have full HTML support with V-Cast for $15/mth. This phone is not a PDA therefore the $44.99 Unltd data plan is not applicable. I am 100% sure about this. There will be no mobile web for $15 and html for $44.99 as mentioned previously. Like others in this forum I cannot wait to get my hands on this phone. I have been waiting to get rid of my Sam U740 and now its days are limited. ...

Voice and data plan will not be a problem. You get ur minutes and then you get v-cast for $15 with unlimited internet. And if you get a premium plan $79.99 for 450 min, unltd txt/pix/flix/im/vcast/mobile web/email/vz-nav. Wow. I can't wait to get my hands on this thing. Also Voyager will have HTML browser so no more mobile web.

1) I have noticed that only the motorola's give you huge msg capacity. On the razr I was able to save as much txt as phone memory could hold. 2)Samsung = Word, LG = T9. Even though it says word on the 8700 it is T9. T9 will learn words while WORD will not. And you are right T9 is way better, just dont pay attention to the fact that it says WORD on the 8700. 3)Once again only motorola allows ...

Re: LG VX8700 price with a 1 year contract?
Apr 15, 2007, 11:16 AM

I am 110% percent sure that rebates apply to both 1yr & 2yr contract. The person you are talking to is either ripping you off or they have no idea what they are doing. Only other thing I can think of that will affect how much you pay is your new every two. You can only use that on a new 2yr contract. So if u were quoted New every 2 the first time and then asked for 1yr, ...

Re: LG VX8700 price with a 1 year contract?
Apr 14, 2007, 12:34 PM
in the LG VX-8700 forum

Honestly whoever told you that is telling you a whole bunch of crap. If you buy this phone from verizon and it is listed at for 2yr at $179.99, then the price for 1yr is only $50 more, not $100. And both 1yr & 2yr includes rebates. the only two options that dont't have rebates are Full Retail and InPulse. Now if you are not buying directly from Verizon (Communication stores or VZW online) then that's a whole different story. ...

To get pix off/on phone you have 3 options. 1. Get a memory card and you can save pix to card from pc or phone. 2. Send them to phone from email, or send them to email from phone. 3. BitPim, I haven't used it for this phone yet, but it worked on older phones to get pics off and on phone. Viewing Pics. While viewing pix in landscape mode the pic will only take up small mid section of screen. Kinda dumb, but ...

That is definatly a software issue because I send txt messages all the time longer that 160 characters. I do about 3000 txt/pix per month and I have had no problems with this phone sending txts. It should just start a new page if you go over 160 characters. I would say take it back to the store and have them reload software or replace phone for you.. Hope this helps.

That not true. All you have to do it get the clip in either .midi or .qcp format. Once you do that, just send the clip to phone in a pic msg from any email address (10digit#@vzwpix.com). When you get the msg, go to options and save as ringtone. Magic, thats all. Well that works on my U740 since day one, and has work on numerous phones in the past. You won't be able to put files on mem ...

You can extend the video length without the memory card. The phone will come with about 45MB of free memory on board. Start Camcorder -> Go to options -> Scroll over to the rectangles with two set of dots (one row on top and one on bottom) -> There you will see linit to MMS and Normal. Select Normal and you can record until you memory is full. Hope this helps. Putting the Memory card in will just give you ...
