Ported In…Ported Out
I loved the idea of a $30 B.Y.O.D. Plan. Unfortunately, after nine days with no working Internet. After five contacts via chat I had to give up.
Verizon increased rate plan
My mom called me and advised me that Verizon had gone up on her bill. I thought it was a fee or something. However, they actually increased her rate plan by six dollars. We called Verizon and even asked for retention. The rep was unyielding. Verizon is something else. They are willing to shed existing customers. My mom decided to port out to Consumer Cellular.
Re: This Merger Was Inevitable
No doubt. This is going to end badly. Those synergies are going to leave a lot of workers out in the cold.
Re: What are we gaining?
“We”as in the public? The public gains nothing. In a few years, the combined Sprint/T-Mobile entity will acquire whatever physical assets and spectrum Dish has at that time. Dish will pay whatever fine the FCC assesses and life will go on. This is similar to the Deal which created Verizon. Alltel held on long enough to be acquired by the entity whose spun off had made them a serious regional carrier in the first place.Im not sure why anyone ...
Re: Of Course it will have an effect on MVNO's...
That's "promoted" to customer. I've been there. Verizon/Alltel 2009. Great days.
Re: My 2¢
No.
Carry on.
Re: If a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it didn't really fall?
That is unlikely. What is more probably is that future handsets will have the radio frequencies T-Mobile plans to use and not the frequencies they plan to retire. T-Mobile should be cut a little slack because their original intention was to be bought out by a rival...not to actually build out a network.
Tesla, where are you?
If this is legit, Tesla should buy this company immediately. And what happened to the silicon battery from Standord professor?
Re: LG L70
Why don't you switch the phone back to your dad's number, program it and then switch it back to his new phone?
$49.99 for pseudo unlimited data
No mas, no mas. I give. You win Verizon. I just ordered two LG VX-10000 (Voyager) handsets from Amazon. I'll save $600 a year.
...
They had no problem charging $44.99 for mandatory data packages back when one could barely use the XV6700 or Blackberry 7300 to check email. As long as Verizon is doing the raping, everything is great. I can't imagine how many torrents one has to download to exceed 100 GB though. I have tried to use data and getting to 50 was a struggle. Nowadays I rarely use more than 10 GB.
Interesting
I am a Libertarian. I find it interesting that a bill sponsored by a Democrat, Diane Feinstein and a Republican, Richard Burr draws backlash against Obama. You do realize that the Senate is controlled by Republicans, yes? If Republicans were the friends of Liberty that Libertarians are then this bill would not have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming law. But they aren't. They are the other side of the hypocrite coin from the Democrats. Spare me your ...
It's Amazing
These crooks took unlimited data away from their customers claiming that most consumers did not use more than 2GB of data. Suddenly they use 2GB of data as an incentive. Either the additional data will not be needed OR Shammo was correct when he stated that faster data speeds with encourage customers to use more data. I believe the latter to be the case.
Question
When will this plan be available? I was unable to order it from Cricket's website.
Re: How the game works
No. The Patriot Act was just what they always dreamed of. Sheep marching to the slaughter. When one exchanges freedom for security one ends up a slave.
Re: They are cooked.....
I do not think many people truly care at this point.
Re: I'm not so sure about this....
Yes. You are wrong. There are no 'wrong people'. There is a right to privacy. Everyone deserves it.
Dislike
I don't believe this 'angry' nonsense was necessary. All they need are 'Like'' and 'Dislike'.
It most assuredly is overdue for something besides having to either co-sign or sit in silence.
Re: Wow...77 Whole Markets
Well...at least they're trying. I know... It's not much solace to those customers who have been on the short end...but they keep at it.
Interesting
Too bad they refused to integrate Android on the Playbook.
Remember when...
Verizon ridiculed T-mobile and Sprint for offering Wi-Fi calling. Something about how they didn't need to offer it because their network is so expansive.
Re: De-priortization, NOT throttling
Hypocrisy nevertheless. Sprint can no longer throw stones at T-Mobile. Truly unlimited data was the only thing Sprint had going for themselves. This is tantamount to waiving the white flag of surrender.
Seriously?
Just mind your own business, AT&T.
"Verizon will allow people with these old unlimited plans to purchase devices...
...through an installment plan, rather than the full retail cost."
What nonsense! Installment billing or full retail price is the same thing. Either way, Verizon isn't subsidizing the cost of the handset.
Phoney BS
This is pure garbage. They might as well fire us as customers.
Re: verizon wireless is deceptive
They knew the Note 5 was coming out. I did work for Verizon corporate and we could have discussed upcoming phones and certainly knew they were coming. But it would be silly to. You sell what you have today.
Re: Heartbroken Customer
Questioning? You should port your numbers to an MVNO in any case. If you want to stick with Verizon's over-hyped network you can go to Page Plus. Unlimited Text and Talk for $39.99 per month. I don't understand why you didn't simply upgrade online. As a former VZW employee, I don't trust any of their employees to touch my account. I do all my transactions online. Everytime I have interacted with one of their store agents I come away ...
Re: Oh the irony..
Which is why sprint spark uses 800, 1900 and 2500 for both voice and data. The very idea of adding another frequency is ridiculous. If they waste money on that spectrum that would be resources they should be using to build out their existing network. It sounds like you would enjoy seeing them go bankrupt chasing a pipe dream.
Wow!
This could be a game changer.
Re: So arrogant & not accommodating to their customers but what choice do we have??
Yes. The Big Red mantra: If you want the best you have to pay more. It is as though they have no idea how arrogant they sound.
Re: Bands?
It would have to be 700 and the 1700/2100 paired. Those are the only bands Verizon uses for LTE. They likely won't be able to use 850 and 1900 until 2020. Unless they violate the terms they agreed to when they purchased Alltel. (Of course, purchasing Alltel when they did was a violation of the agreement they made when they became Verizon, so enough money in the right hands might see them break the 2020 agreement).
Re: employee
Charging a fee for someone who brings their own device is akin to refusing money. Illogical.
Re: I'll take this
DirecTV doesn't do Internet. Why would this help your Internet speeds?
Re: It Works!
My aren't we a negative Nelly! Clearly states it is going to work. Until proven otherwise let's roll with that.
Let's Begin By...
...cutting Steve Mollenkopf's salary in half.
Re: Verizon overcharging for data usage
"they're simply not the best provider any longer...."
These things are all relative of course. If you are not a CDL driver who needs coverage in the entire lower forty-eight and you don't live in a rural area then they probably aren't.
It Works!
"T-Mobile Advanced Messaging is built to work across all devices, makers, platforms, and wireless operators."
You will be just fine.
Looks good!
I like this!
Re: Not okay
...and Verizon did just that a few years ago.
"whatever keeps the spectrum...
...out of the hands of Verizon and Att is fine by me"
