Finally
It still took them too long in my opinion.
wtf T-Mobile
Is it just me, but is the fact that T-Mobile is still holding out on also offering this making them seem like a bunch of D-Bags?
Maybe they need the revenue to pay for their hot 4g girls salary.
Time Zone?
Eric, is that 3AM in any time zone, or a specific one? Out of curiosity.
Re: And I care, why . . ?
No simultaneous voice and data means if i'm talking on the phone on an active call, data won't work. It doesn't mean if i'm using data that an incoming call or sms won't work.
Re: No fix.
That's not true. Phone radio and sms always always overrides the data. I have Sprint CDMA and used to have Verizon and can't count the times I've been actively using a data intensive app and have received incoming phone calls and sms, all while a data transfer was currently in progress.

Re: What is up with this information??????
iPhone 4
Dumb. He means AT&T Windows Phone 7 device.
Re: Told you. WiMax is a dead protocol walking.
LMAO
1.3 Megapixel camera is a stand-out feature?
I suppose there wasn't much to write about. :D
Re: When is it going to far with cell phone
You know, I remember a time when I actually thought having a camera in a phone was stupid and I would never need or want one. Now, I can't imagine having a phone with less than a five megapixel camera.
My daughter will one day not be able to imagine a phone that doesn't have 3D holographic display and that send text messages into her brain. Its just the way technology is.
Re: While most people who post on phonescoop are techies
I guess I never thought about the brand recognition aspect of it. I'm too much of a techie to think as a non techie sometimes. :D
Re: Similar to the iPhone....how?
Agreed. That "similar to the iphone" blurb was the most unnecessary/stupid part of the description. I suppose my old Motorola Startac is similar to the iphone as well, since they can both make phone calls.
Re: Nice!
The first WiMAX phone will be the HTC Supersonic. Forgive me for not knowing, but is that an Android device? (I assume it is)
Re: Coming soon
I have heard from several sources that it will begin this Thursday the 18th at noon and will be done in batches of 250,000 at a time. So not much longer!
Re: Frantic Steve Jobs Stays Up All Night Designing Apple Tablet
I love The Onion.
I don't get it
Why would anyone ever pay for a bunch of song clips? They aren't even full songs. Wtf. I guess it would make more sense to me if these were full songs.
Re: Ummm
The entire reason Google has to make a web-based app in the first place is because Apple minded them having an actual app.
Re: verizon, stop hating on sprint, this stunt makes you look like a bully
I can't take anyone seriously who types in all caps. It makes you look like an ignorant idiot. I ignored all of your points and just saw ALL CAPS.
I have both
I have a contract Verizon phone (Blackberry Tour) and a contract AT&T Phone (Samsung Eternity). The closest 3G for AT&T is 40 miles away in the twin Cities. I live in southern Minnesota. In a small town. But there is still EVDO here, and the speeds are amazing.
Everyone around here thinks AT&T sucks because they have terrible service down here. I just know its a bad spot for the network.
I like both networks, but appreciate that Verizon ...
Re: That's Okay!
I have had AT&T and have Verizon and have never had better coverage. And 3G everywhere I go. I know many people who feel the same way.
Re: bricked my phone
Sorry to hear about the bricking. I have a VZW Tour Running os 5.0.0.236 and the new BBM works perfectly. Also installed it on my wife's os 4.7 BB Curve from AT&T and it works fine on that too.
Hate the name
I'm sorry, I am a "geek" myself I suppose, but I can't stand the name "Geek's phone". Its so lame.
Re: here is y ATT carry it (my opinion)
Wow
Re: too bad verizon's phones suck!
All this talk of Sim-based phones is fine, but something is being forgotten. This News story is about LTE... and LTE uses Sim-cards. Regardless of carrier. Its part of the technology.
Re: If theres a frinkin emergency...
I can only see this coming in handy if like you have an intruder in your house and you need to stay quiet. Then it would be great.
As Chandler from Friends would say...
"Could there BE any more app stores these days?"
Re: technically
'at&t : we have good service but so does everyone else.
vzw : we have service in places and so does at&t'
This made me laugh out loud.
Sprint: We have several handsets to choose from, much like our competitors!
Re: ATT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon
I don't think anyone cares about this phone anymore. That's what happens when something by a non-cell phone company takes so long to come out. The novelty of the idea has worn off.
Or maybe it will be a HUGE success! Watch out iphone!
Re: slackers
I have never been into an AT&T store that didn't have live phones. Maybe there were some somewhere that didn't.
Highlight...
I'm beginning to wonder when these clever phone names will run out. Phones used to be called by forgettable model numbers. (Sgh-T707 or whatever)
Now, every phone has some actual name like "Shine" or "Tour" or "Highlight". I suppose there are lots and lots of words in the English language to be used, but you'd think it has to end somewhere.
Re: WAKE UP SHEEP!!!!!!!
"Seven email accounts? Do you have, like, 6 jobs and 1 personal account? Is that really necessary?"
The Six Jobs part made me literally LOL!
Unimpressive...
This looks kinda ugly, IMO.
Re: Eh...
This phone looks just plain ludicrous.
Re: I loved my Dash
My T-Mobile Dash was an awesome phone. If this goes to T-MO again, I will consider buying an unbranded version direct from HTC so I can use it on AT&T.
Re: no1 buying Nokia because
Are you talking to me? I said nothing about Apple at all. I am confused.
Re: there a boy talks, and there are
This news story was entitled "Nokia is the best company ever"?
Re: no1 buying Nokia because
Actually, millions of people buy Nokia worldwide. Who cares if you don't. That's a personal choice.
Have you not heard of the Nokia N95 and other high end phones? You seem to be trying to prove that you use a lot of cool phones and that none of them are Nokia. Well good for you.
And by the way, I do not currently own a Nokia phone, nor do I have any special bias towards them. I just thought your ...
Re: LOLOLOLOL "regular"phones have had these features for years
I don't really think AT&T has much to do with the design specifications or capabilities of the iphone.
Re: I wanna know something please respond?
I was searching for punctuation in that post and realized I was looking in the wrong thread. My bad. :)
Re: it's all about the arpu, baby
I have unlimited text with t-mobile, and if I didn't I could never pay my cell phone bill, because i use an average of 12 to 15 THOUSAND messages a month. So bundling works very well for me.
Re: I dont get it...
Mine did too, and now that I have had it for three days, it stopped. No matter what I do, or what setting I have it on, it wont vibrate. Wtf??
