I don't think the Jet would be considered a smart phone, but it seems like the Jet isn't coming to the U.S. You can read at the bottom of one of the pages about that...
The reason it's Resistive...
is because Windows Mobile doesn't support capacitive touch screens... since Windows Mobile doesn't have multitouch now anyway who needs a capacitive screen.

Yeah, being such a brick and only having a 2.0 MP camera kinda sets it quite a ways back compared to the competitors...

The thing is, if they have this passed then they should make it so that all cameras should need to make sounds while taking pictures. But every camera can silence the sound so what's the difference with camera phones??
Oh, and while they're at it they might as well make ever video camera have to make sounds while recording too so that people know... haha

Well IMO many people nowadays are getting plans with data, so I don't see it being a far stretch for Alltel to say that it needs a data plan... not all that much different than the iPhone (except that the Delve's plan is cheaper).
Even though I don't agree that the data plan is mandatory, I understand the move by Alltel. And yes, I have worked as an Alltel salesperson too and know how it can be to explain to ...
Hope they make a CDMA version!
I really hope that they make a CDMA version of this so that I can use it on the Alltel network! ^-^;;
Seriously Alltel has a lack of nice camera phones...

For me I am just happy that Moto is finally in the game with pretty much every other company that already has touch screen devices on the market!
Now if we could just get Moto to include something better than a 2 MP camera then we'd have a winner! :D

What I think both of you need to realize is that this phone is NOT the final build! It will most like be more responsive and better...
And there ARE things that this phone will have over the iPhone. A few quick things that come to mind is the 3.2 MP camera, stylus with internal storage, and the capability to use a 16 GB micro SD card...

If I were you I would seriously think about using a mini usb instead because quite frankly all of the major companies (Moto, Samsung, Nokia, LG) are going to the micro usb slot. So eventually all phones will use the same one, so I don't know why you would want to be using a silly mini usb then...

Also, don't worry about a short circuit. As long as it is the same Voltage (which it is) it doesn't matter the Amperage. :)

Ok. Well with the Razr2 you need to press and hold not only until it vibrates, but until it BEEPS.
I don't know why this is, but if you hold it until it beeps all of the applications should work. :)

I know this phone has been on the market for quite a while now, so does anyone have any info as to when the price for Alltel will drop from the current 199.99 after rebate?
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated because I am looking to upgrade my contract within the next month so I would like to know.

Not for a while... because even though Verizon just bought Alltel, Alltel still has a few months or so of being the only network with the phone. And, seeing as Verizon doesn't technically own it all until this Fall I think you will just have to wait. :P
