There's no camparison between the two since they are made for two different users. It's a matter of personal preference and functionality. BB is more for business use. Iphone for looks and multimedia, music etc.

You seem to be running out of intelligent things to say. So whatever you say, "Icyhot", you seem to know everything. Appreciate the nice and very informative comments.

Hmmmn, let me see who's assuming. I have 3 Engineers, plus my self, testing the US version as we speak. We get the phones from the manufacturers before they are even announced. We tell the manufacturers if the phones are a go or no go. So tell me that carries no weight? Dream on dude!!!

Well I don't know, maybe I work for AT&T? We'll just have to see who's crazy when the phone hits the stores. :D

Getting Internet to work on Unlocked 750's
Aug 2, 2007, 1:31 PM
in the Palm Treo 750 forum

Does anybody know the right setting to get the internet to work on an unlocked Treo. I still have an old AT&T wireless blue SIM and I can't find the right setting to browse the web. The phone is defaulted to the Orange Cingular setting.

For those who are still having problems with the ringer, the software update has just been release to fix this bug. I got an email from Palm about a week ago. Please go the Palm website for more info.

You don't need 3G SIM for this phone. The regular Cingular 64K sim will work. The 3G SIM only works if you have 3G specific features like video calling.

From my experience, I noticed that I will always accidentally press the side volume buttons on the 750. Even though the volume is not turned all the way down, it will stop ringing as if you put it on silent mode even though the actual ringer switch was on. Might want to check side volume key and make sure it is turned up all the way. Hope this helps. Goodluck

hey ozzie, I installed Goodlink for my email and I still have 44.33 MB left on my storage memory. All these including all my contacts, calendar and notes. All my pics and music are stored in the expansion card. You should not have any problems unless you start loading 3rd party software like crazy. The program memory is a different story. You will need to clear the program memory throughout the day to make room. When you ...

It all depends on the kind of user you are. I bought a Blackjack and returned it because it wasn't for me. BJ is a great phone for average user. Good voice quality, slim design. It is a smartphone so you cannot edit excel or word documents, you can only view them. It does not have a touch screen, which I had a hard time adjusting since I had a Treo 650, 8125 and 8525. ...

Re: Pro & Con 750 Battery Life???

Just got this for my wife. She's an average user, maybe spend about 1 1/2 hour a day yapping on the phone, and occasional Internet use. She's in a GSM only area and she only burns about 50% of the battery at the end of the day. She syncs and charges the phone every night which I recommend. Looking at this numbers, I would say it would be very easy for a high end user like me to ...

I agree. In addition, these two phones are apples and oranges. It's not really fair to compare the two. I'm with Treo 750 all the way. Just have to wait until I can get my hands on one. The Cingular store in my area sold out on the first day and there's a waiting list.

I'm not familiar with the TMO network but this is how it will work. If TMO has UMTS/HSDPA, you will get the broadband speed just like how you would have it with Cingular. Although from what I've read so far, the Treo will launch w/o the HSDPA but will be upgradable. We'll have to see next week when it launches. If TMO does not have UMTS/HSDPA, you should be able to access their GSM/EDGE network and have EDGE ...

She's in a GSM/EDGE only area right now which might also explain why the battery last longer. She does not have to do anything with the phone. She's not tech savvy so she just uses the phone straight from the box. She uses blue tooth on every single phone call. I would suggest switching the phone to GSM only and see if you still have the battery problem. I'm not sure how to do this yet on ...

That sucks and I feel for you. My wife charges her Blackjack every night and only goes through half the battery life at the end of the day with average use (1 hour a day) and using BT. So if she does not charge the battery every night, I'm sure she has enough juice for the following day. Having two bad batteries is very unlikely but you should also look at the possibility of having a bad ...

I just got my wife a Blackjack recently and she loves it. She was a former Treo650 user and uses the touchscreen a lot. I used it for a few days and it was an easy transition from touchscreen to scroll wheel. If you're looking for simplicity and slim form factor, the Blackjack is a really great device. Yes, you will have to really make sure how you're going to use this device. People bad mouth the Blackjack ...

You're right. My Cingy source verified that they approved the 750 for release and it's just a matter of days or weeks until we see them in the stores. I just bought my wife a Blackjack but I might just return it for the 750.

How reliable is your source? My Cingy source is out on vacation but last time I heard, this phone has not been approved. I have yet to verify if anything has changed the last week or so.

Everything is hearsay until Cingular approves the phone for release. It has not been approved due to numerous bugs. Once approved, we should see it in the stores in a matter of weeks.

I'm in the same situation also. Although if you have no use for the faster data download, the 680 is a very good device specially from a previous 650 user perspective. I was able to play with a 680 for about a week. The size is identical. The RF is excellent. The device is faster since it has more memory. No more rebooting problems. I'm just holding out for the 750 because of the 3G speeds since I ...

Not really. The problems with the 750 has no relation to the 650 problems nor should we expect the 750v nor the 680 to have the same problems. The 680 was approved by Cingular and should not have the same problems as the 650. The 680 was actually created to address the issues that we all experienced with the 650. The 750V was made for Vodafone and obviously, it was approved for released by Vodafone since they felt ...

More bad news for my fellow Treo 750 fans
Dec 15, 2006, 12:05 PM
in the Palm Treo 750 forum

My Cingy source confirmed that Cingular has not yet approved the release of Treo 750's due to numerous bugs that Palm has yet to address. Cingy is being really careful not to have a repeat of the Treo 650 fiasco. There's no truth to previous reports of HSDPA problems or network compatibility issues that was causing the delay. The real deal is Palm needs to get their act together and deliver a quality phone considering the Treo ...

It may not even be a phone issue but a a downlink problem that you're having with the cell site. I had those problems with different phones when I get on bad channels. Thanks.
