You should do more research on who you're going to sign up with before you throw yourself over the first "media phone" with "A great $99 plan" you see. As far as I know, Helio is an MVNO from sprint, meaning you are getting the same kind of service except for roaming signals probably. A "mobile professional"? is that supposed to mean you work for a mobile communications company, or that you think you are "knowledgeable" about mobile communications?

I would love to have taken this kind of call. the highest I've seen so far is 50k on a non-ASL (account spending limit) account. and the customer did owe it. (talk about senseless international raming usage)

Re: Sprint Customer Care 24 hours or not?
Apr 21, 2007, 8:44 PM
in the Sprint forum

No customer service rep works 24 hours. otherwise whatever calls, as few as there may be, would be routed to a customer service call center. Some sites like the ones in india and phillipines have their workers on night shifts to cover for the time differences, so i really doubt there is something like a 24 hours customer care.

Sure, our customers never use their phones for anything else than making/receiving calls. our customer never cancel their services prior to their service agreements expire. our customers never receive a coonfirmation letter whenever they change their plans and renew their existing agreement. and of course, our customers always check their minutes of use and never, NEVER go over their minutes. Our customers always return their handsets ordered throught the web to avoid equipment charges. our customers are always aware ...

Isn't Qchat software-based like ready link? if it is, i doubt you will have to drop your sanyo. a quick IOTA update should do it, but who knows.

it is, but it's based on text information rather than html or visual enhancements. probably the voice service will not be on this phone, but nowadays, we hardly use phones for just "voice"! I think this is a step towards a fully digital world :D

Re: The Sprint dilemma
Jan 24, 2007, 9:04 PM

Well, offering a dsicount on a handset is a save effort if the person is already thinking of porting out. Besides, it is not taking advantage of the company; many ppl cancel their services due to handset related issues, specially like the ones the OP mentioned. And plus, we get to keep the customer for more revenue, duh!

*Applause* True that. Both Notorola and Nokia are well know for thier handsets, even more than LG or Sanyo if I may add; Ever since the RAZR was brought up with other carriers (i.e., Sprint), i have heard more complains about LG and Samsung phones than Motorola or even UTStarcom phones!

Only a few handsets are capable of displaying such information. As a Customer service rep for over 2 years, i haven't had a single case of bad reception or dropped calls because of an incorrect Home SID Value, but bleh..

Re: messaging question.

It's not just to send pics, the $15 plan includes other features, like Videomail and Sprint TV channel 1, but that of course is only available to handsets capable of using such services, not to mention its UNLIMITED.

Re: The Sprint dilemma

Just call Cutomer Care and say you're cancelling, they will transfer you to an account services department, where you will most likely get an additional credit or even up to $150 for upgraded phones to retain you, it's worth a try if you're thinking of porting out anyway.

Re: The Sprint dilemma

It Is Grandfathered, as long as you haven't signed up after may '06, the ETf will still be $150. it still sounds like more expenses if you port out to another company, plus the fact that activation fees are NEVER waived, unless you keep calling customer service over and over again; retail will most likely tell you this in order to get commission, but get a funny surprise on yourfirst bill.
