Re: ringtone assigned in contacts?
Symbian is a pretty loaded operating system feature wise, but they can be buried a little in menu's. If you have the patience, try some of the Symbian S60 and Nokia forums. You might be surprised by some features.
Re: questions & info.
There is a 'screen calibration' option under Settings => Phone => Touch Input => Touch Screen Calibration. There is a 'writing feature' as well.
I don't know about assigning ringtones.
Download Google Maps, it connects to the GPS signal faster than OVI. The OVI Maps does have a great navigation feature that works without any Data signal. As long as it gets a decent view of the sky for GPS. The maps are native on the phone.
Hope the phone ...
Re: T-mo vs ATT Data Plan
I just picked it up on T-Mobile today anyway, moot point now.
I missed you Nokia! Bye ATT.
Re: Google Maps and GPS
Thanks for your input.
As for GPS and Google, it appears ATT may prevent it from working completely (They want you to subscribe to Navigator?). Another forum had posted something to this affect.
It is a nice 'feature' phone otherwise, and quite thin.
T-mo vs ATT Data Plan
Any idea what AT&T would require for a data plan? $30 or $10?
T-Mobile for whatever reason is not requiring the smartphone rates for data on this device.
I am considering the Nokia 5230 directly from Nokia which as ATT 3G frequencies.
Google Maps and GPS
I downloaded Google Maps to this phone and while it looks very nice the GPS location feature will not work. What am I missing?
Also, any way to check email instead of the $5/mo 'Mobile Email' application on the phone?
Very nice for a non smartphone otherwise.
Thanks.
Re: Applications
I apologize for my misspelling ... tired :)
Applicatoins
Curious if Pandora, Loopt or Google Maps can be installed and used on this device.
Re: dropped calls
Interesting theory. On occasion I deactivated 3G on the iPhone to save battery sometimes. I wish I had taken note if calls were more reliable on just GSM.
I would be curious how your HTC performed if 3G were turned off temporarily.
Good luck finding a resolution.
Re: dropped calls
Curious if it is worse than my 2 iPhones. I dropped about one call a day all over central FL but put up with it. Switched my SIM to a GoPhone after a year and no dropped calls now. Bizarre.
My concern is that this phone is on my radar and I don't need that issue again.. I will search more forums for user experiences.
Re: Will AT&T pick up this model?
If ATT does pick up this phone I am curious if WiFi will be removed by them. Also can the 'bloatware' be easily deleted?
e71 and data plan
I wish to purchase this phone direct from Nokia. I asked the ATT rep at a local Corp store if I could do so without contract penalty or renewal and it is no problem. However, the ATT rep claims I MUST have the $30 data plan even though I am not purchasing the phone from them. He quoted the new Smartphone Sept 1st rule. Is this true? I don't want data, only the Wifi feature.
Re: Nseries low-end
This is a tough forum.
Re: Any body purchase from best buy?
Just seems a little over the top. Each to their own.
Re: Nseries low-end
This N75 is beyond high end compared to anything I have owned.
More N series stateside would be appreciated though.
Re: Any body purchase from best buy?
I might have given up if I had that kind of failure rate. What problems are you having?
Is there any other handset in the at&t lineup you would enjoy?
I played with 3 different Verizon phones this weekend and they all had the same red user interface, bizarre.
Re: Browsers
The at&t browser is what you see when visiting the MediaNet homepage.
The Nokia browser is located under 'Tools' and is an icon of a globe labeled 'Web'.
Nokia's browser is more robust and renders pages much better.
After trying both browsers you will see the differences.
Re: Cingular/At&t vs. US Cellular
I'm guessing you aren't looking for an actual satellite phone, but GSM. Coverage in Chicago looks pretty good for both at&t and T-Mobile per their maps.
Sorry I can't offer more, I live in FL.
Re: Mac Users...HELP!!!
iTunes has a feature that will convert your AAC files to MP3 or whatever you want.
Also, when ripping CD's, have them imported as an MP3 maybe. In iTunes go to 'Edit', 'Preferences', 'Advanced', 'Importing'. There you can change the type of file it imports it as.
Re: Software version number
The embedded 'Music' program that at&t put on the phone cannot be turned off to my knowledge. I have read there might be a hack at some point.
Re: Software version number
Active tasks can be seen by pressing and holding the 'menu' key. I think that is what you were asking for.
Re: opera mini and the photo blog
Has anyone tried the Lifeblog under 'Games and Apps'? It is recording everything. Text, pics etc.
Re: SENDING VIDEOS IN MMS
Yes, I figured it out. Open up the camera to video mode, then choose 'settings'. The first option is 'Video quality'... ensure it is set at 'Sharing'.
Re: opera mini and the photo blog
Good to know it works. I used the photo blog on my previous phone (SE w810) and I had a little trouble with it. I'll give it a try on the N75. Thx.
Re: web browsing
Mine is Cingular branded, bought in the store and it has the Nokia browser.
Re: XM radio
I can't find a browser that will stream XM through the phone. Trying on the Nokia N75 too. I get a 'cookie error'.
I too have an XM subscription, seems silly to add another subscription to the phone, and for less channels.
At this point I would say we can't do it.
Re: web browsing
The Nokia browser renders full web pages. Pretty neat.
The MediaNet browser is not as robust.
Re: 6126 or N75 which one has better call quality , holds signal better and loud enough earpiece vol
Having 3G or not may also affect sound quality.
Re: Help, confused by rumor
You can load your own media. I forget the file types of music it can't play but I like moving files via my memory card (plug it into my computer).
You can stream music and radio from other sites as well for free if you know where to look.
Re: stuck between nokia 6126 or N75 which is better"
You may want to prioritize your needs. The coverage I would put as top priority. I choose at&t for the coverage, T-Mobile isn't bad. at&t/Cing seems to have phones I like too.
I own the N75 and have no problems, I really enjoy it. The 6126 doesn't have Symbian or 3G but I'm finding Nokia appears to be a pretty solid brand.
Good luck. Let us know what you settle on.

Re: Camera Phone Blog
Impressive camera quality.
Re:Battery => noticeably difference
my apology for the misspelling in the title.
Re:Battery => noticeably difference
I agree. Change the Packet Data to 'when needed' has significantly helped. Why was 'always' the default to begin with I wonder. Not finding that setting will lead to some returned phones.
Re: REBRANDING COMPLETE
It is Cingular branded still. When I type that address into both browsers it re-routes me to Cingular.com.
Re: Qeustion...
I had that same program on my SE w810i. You get a trial period of a few days, then it will tell you to subscribe and download the full version. At that point it started charging me $3.99 a mo.
It was clear when it would begin charging though.
At least that is how it worked on this phone.
Re: REBRANDING COMPLETE
Will the website get a facelift soon?
more Nokia/Symbian
This is more or less a comment but I find this phone thoroughly impressive. I have never owned a 'smartphone' and decided to try something new. The OS is night and day from the standard phones I am used to. Now I see why so many of you are frustrated with the lack of sophisticated handsets here in the States.
For the first time in awhile I have a cool and higher end device.
Hope more phones like this find ...
Re: Iphone Campout
No displays were up yet. Just wiring going in.
Re: Iphone Campout
I was in a Corporate store that was wiring the facility for 4 iPhone displays. Seems like a huge rollout to me.
Re: AT&T branded N75
Yeah I figured that. Curious on how long the wait is. Suppose it's anyones guess. Thx-
