the damn thread is about a poor sprint employee who is getting the shaft! and this is not the first one of this nature..now yes my post was not helpful and inflammatory in nature..but all the bad press in general about sprint is fair play my friend...the company needs to pull their heads out. now i know you ...

lol thats fair
I like Sprint phones, their data, PTT plans, Wimax plans, early nights, unlimited text, etc etc verizon got nothing and their phones are hella weak! you think its crazy to port back for the sanyo 7050? I know it a fairly basic but there is just something about it :)
Re: autonomous GPS that can work even when the phone does not have cellular service.
I like it! :)
Re: autonomous GPS that can work even when the phone does not have cellular service.
The SCP-7050 offers autonomous GPS that allows location data to be captured even when the user has taken the phone off the wireless network. In addition, Java MVM allows the phone to run multiple Java applications simultaneously. The combination of Java MVM and location based GPS allows the phone to support advanced navigation, tracking and management applications. Applications such as Comet Tracker(TM) by ActSoft, Gearworks etrace(R), TeleNav Track(TM), and Xora GPS TimeTrack provide GPS tracking, job dispatching, location-intelligent timecards, ...

Also, regarding the GPS. This phone uses the Qualcomm MSM-2165 (if I remember correctly) which has autonomous GPS capability (just like a commercial GPS). The great thing about it is that you will be able to use this phone as a Stand-alone GPS unit connected via Bluetooth/USB to you NMEA compatible GPS apps, EVEN in off-network areas. HOW COOL IS THAT??
Now, ...
