W385 the best?
Aug 23, 2007, 12:16 PM
in the Verizon forum

From the reviews their seem to be a lot of people that are really impressed with the W385 from Motorola. Knowing Motorola's have a history of not holding up was wondering if anyone has anything to report. Also do you think this is the best "basic" phone Verizon currently has to offer...or best "basic" phone ever? I'm up for a new phone and appreciate the feedback!

Why I'm Not Getting an iPhone Tue Jun 26, 2007 7:06PM EDT The iPhone hype is so intense right now, I think people will be buying this phone based on hype alone. I mean, is the phone really that great? Our duty is to keep you informed regarding details we come across, so the more I read about the iPhone, the less I want it. At a glance, the device looks fantastic, features sound fun, and there's no doubt this ...

in the LG VX-8300 forum

I have heard that the next model up from the 8300 will be the 8350. Have seen just one picture online of the back but that's it. I was thinking it would be out anyday now as I bought my 8300 a little over a year ago now but haven't heard a thing yet.

Richard- Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. I will look at both. I also am considering waiting for the Razr 2 to come out. Hoping it will be later this Summer and not deep into the Fall!

Set me straight!
Jun 12, 2007, 9:27 AM
in the Motorola RAZR maxx Ve forum

I am getting a new phone this weekend and am leaning hard to the MOTORAZR maxx Ve. I have read most all on this forum as well as thoghts from other reviewers on other websites. Just curious to know a few things from those who already have... 1. Is vibrate mode strong? 2. Is earpiece really nice and loud? 3. Should I wait for a software patch for any known bugs? 4. Should I wait for the new Razrs coming out later this ...

I'm up for a new phone around Father's Day. Want a new one....but...should I hang on to my LG 8300 for a while longer cause some really cool new phones are right around the bend later this summer? What would you do?

I think that plan was discontinued. Starts with the $10 plan with unlimited IN and 500 non Verizon messages.

Has Verizon Stopped This?
May 16, 2007, 12:38 PM
in the Verizon forum

I have the LG 8300 and for the past year have been able to email mp3's to myself and save them as ring tones. Well no more. I tried sending on more than one occasion and now I just get the text of the email but not the mp3. Is this Verizon plugging a hole to make us fork over our $2.99 for a ring tone and not allowing us to create our own anymore?

I laughed out loud at that inside your house post! So true. I get 3 bars of service in my basement which is 75% underground. Other friends with other carriers have to go out on my back deck or just borrow my phone!

When you say everything works as it should what about the buttons? Do they "feel" right when you text or do you find yourself double checking to make sure the phone was accurate in you inputs?

I'm just a VZW customer who called *611 and asked the operator on duty about it and that's what he told me. Didn't act like is was some big secret he wasn't supposed to tell me.

Americas Choice Select Calling Plans
Apr 12, 2007, 12:51 PM
in the Verizon forum

Just got confirmation that these plans indeed will be available beginning this Sunday April 15th. The minute structure will remain the same but true Domestic Unlimited Text/Pix/Flix will be available to any carrier, not just Verizon. For those spending up to $20 for each line on their family share plans for text packages will benefit the most as it will include unlimited texting to all phones on the plan for one price.

Re: Speaking of Texting
Apr 10, 2007, 9:12 PM

I spend $50 right now on texting. $10 for my phone with the 500 messages and 2 $20 plans for wife/daughter. Obviously I will switch and save $20 monthly...which I know will just be spent by my wife at Macy's!

I agree with this also...I never sent a text 4 years ago...now with my daughter about to turn 16...you better believe I text. I never get onto her about minutes but the texting....that's another story! This will be great to not have to worry about her going over again!

Is the only thing changing the Unlimited text to everyone no matter the carrier or do you know if Verizon is also re-working the minutes packages as well for the new plans? Thanks!

Any word on when Verizon will be up and running in West Virginia. I remember reading they bought an entire network there. Parents live in Morgantown and want to switch over to VZW when their current contract expires in June. Any idea? Thanks.

Where's The Info?
Mar 1, 2007, 9:45 AM

Multiple posters on here said Verizon would start offering text packages up to 5000 to non-Verizon phones starting today. I was looking for info on their website and found nothing. All I found was the following: In addition to Unlimited IN Messaging, you can choose a bundle that gives you the right amount of messages to those outside the network. IN Messaging Bundles start at $10 monthly access plus 500 additional messages. But it doesn't break down what bundles I can ...

I agree that they should. Then you would have that "never need to worry" feeling. I know T-Mobile offers an Unlimited package for everything for about $30 a month. I would pay for that peace of mind.

I'll take 5000 over 2500 anyday! That would be tough to use up in one month.

Where did you hear they were offering an Unlimited package now for texting? I checked their website and found no information on this nor did one of the Verizon operators. Do you have a link?

I don't think Unlimited is coming but I have heard from two Verizon employees that the 2500 non verizon text package is about to be raised to 5000 because of demand. Might happen as soon as tomorrow or later this week? Anybody able to confirm this?

On my 8300 I can record a FLIX and it can just be you saying what you want, then send it to yourself. Then from options choose "save as a ringtone". Then set that to be your text/PIX alert.

Just heard that new Text bundles will be announced and available beginning March 1st. Don't know what they will be but guessing they will up the number of texts to non-verizon customers. No word on if they are restructuring calling plans in any way.

If this is true that would be fantastic. I am the father of a 15 year old and unfortunately most of her friends are not on Verizon and she can burn thru the 2500 in 2 to 3 weeks and the last week of our month I have to play the text police...this would save me a lot of time!

Changes on the Verizon?

Historically Verizon has made changes to calling plans in the month of February. With Cingular/ATT new Unity plan and the fact that just about everybody but Verizon offers unlimited texting to any carrier should we expect (finally) some new calling plans and text packages from Verizon next month?

Before I tell you a story let me just say that I don't work for Verizon (never have). Just a regular guy with a regular family who likes phones and visits this website mostly for reviews of new phones (The 9900 looks great!) Anyway, after reading a lot of people on here bickering back and forth about everything from software versions and this that and the other I thought I would tell you why I love Verizon and why ...

Re: Mobile ESPN

It looks like you will have to access the content thru V-Cast and Verizon will give you first month free, after that $15 a month. I have Mobile 2.0 for only $5 a month plus minutes and am satisfied by the amount of content you get from ESPN with just that. I personally would politely refuse the free phone they are offering and get a better one but that's just me.

Actually no...we have children too...and two of our three have cells so their is always a phone in the house. If your son has his own cell then I see no need to keep a land line. You've just always had one so that's why it's weird to not think of having one. From what I've read we're like the last country to still have so many people with land lines. My wife is South ...
